Background

Tang Jie was formerly an ordinary university student before transmigrating into a world of martial artists, demons, and immortal cultivators. He initially sought to become True Person Heyun's disciple, but lacked spiritual roots and was rejected from immortal cultivation. Rather than accept a mundane life, he chose martial arts under the guidance of his father, Tang Tianhao. That decision awakened a mysterious status panel that rewarded martial breakthroughs with Potential Points, rapidly improving his aptitude. 1 2

Tang Tianhao taught him the Boyhood Art and later the Iron Cutting Saber Art. Tang Jie's progress soon surpassed his father: he mastered the saber art in three months, reached the Meteor Art on his eighteenth birthday, and needed costly Qi and Blood Pills to sustain his increasingly extreme training. 4 6

To finance cultivation, Tang Jie fought in Lingyue City's underground arena while concealed behind a bull-head mask. The audience named him the Bull Head Man, while his undefeated and overwhelming victories earned him the more feared title of Bull Demon King. 9 13 21

Tang Jie's identity was exposed when he stormed Lingyue City's execution ground to rescue Tang Tianhao. He broke through the soldiers' defenses and defeated the Qi Refining cultivator Miss Yun with flying knives, establishing that his martial arts could threaten immortal cultivators. 28 40

Afterward, Tang Jie cultivated at Qingshan Temple on Great Green Mountain, learning the Golden Bell Shield from Du Jue and later studying the Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art and other Buddhist martial arts left by the white-browed old monk. His secluded training transformed him into a martial artist whose physical strength could rival Demonic Beasts. 36 58 60

He later became closely tied to Peerless City and Wuhua Gate through Bai Fenghua and Bai Yuanhua. After accepting Bai Yuanhua's cultivation transfer and representing him in the City Lord competition, Tang Jie defeated multiple Martial Arts Grandmasters and the Foundation Establishment body cultivator Yuan Zhan, securing Bai Yuanhua's succession as City Lord. 85 86 88 89

Appearance

Tang Jie is an extraordinarily handsome young man with black hair, a tall and powerful build, and the physical presence of a seasoned martial artist despite his youth. When operating openly as a fighter or traveling through dangerous regions, he is frequently seen in black clothing. 40 47 60

  • His youthful face initially made spectators doubt that he could be the feared Bull Demon King. 40
  • His body becomes metallic or golden in appearance while circulating the Golden Bell Shield and Golden Body Art. 36 88
  • He commonly concealed his identity with a bull-head mask during arena fights and criminal operations. 9 21
  • His Demon Prajna techniques can manifest black dragon scales over his body. 123
  • The One-Pattern Battle Mark appears as a dark-golden mark on his forehead. 155

Personality

Tang Jie is intensely disciplined and single-minded about martial cultivation. He trains through pain, isolation, exhaustion, and dangerous breakthroughs without retreating, believing that fear of hardship would prevent him from reaching the summit of martial arts. 36 91

He is practical and blunt rather than socially polished. Tang Jie dislikes lengthy consolation or empty words, often resolving disputes through direct action when he believes force is necessary. He is also highly confident in his own strength, though that confidence is generally supported by his results. 71 123

Despite his ruthlessness toward murderers, bandits, demons, and hostile cultivators, Tang Jie consistently protects people who rely on him. He risks himself for Tang Tianhao, saves Tie Niu, aids Liu Ergen's village, treats Bai Fenghua's injuries, rescues imprisoned martial cultivators, and remains alert to threats against his blood relatives. 28 71 79 147 155

“The strong challenge the stronger; only the weak oppress the weaker.” 92

  • Refining Prison Clan origin is dangerous because it can corrupt his body and soul, but the Marrow Cleansing Scripture keeps his mind intact. 155
  • Maha Boundless cycles Tang Jie's True Qi through the Boundless Seed, feeding it back in a vastly stronger form. 160
  • He combines the Futu Blood Realm with the God Demon Blood Realm to trap and defeat the Heavenly Fiend Hell King. 160
