The Poor Evil Dragon
Lucia was now certain that the evil dragon Lance might really be planning to raise her, this little dragon he had picked up, as his girlfriend.
How could he do this?
It was perfectly normal for an evil dragon to want a female dragon as a girlfriend.
But raising a little dragon he had picked up as his girlfriend—wasn't that a bit too much? A bit perverse?
This was grooming!
Though some young noblemen in the human world also liked grooming their future wives, their families had marriage contracts, and their age gaps were never too large.
Ten years at most.
Evil dragons were different.
If an evil dragon wanted to groom someone, he had to raise the little dragon until adulthood, at the very least.
From little dragon to adult dragon took at least one or two thousand years.
Did evil dragon Lance have that kind of patience? Lucia secretly raised her head and glanced at him.
Evil dragon Lance was counting his pitifully small Savings.
A few dozen gold coins. For her, that was only one or two days' worth of Pocket Money.
ε=(ο`*))) Sigh, whatever. If the evil dragon wanted to play at grooming, then let him.
She was going to quietly escape someday anyway.
As an Imperial Princess, she did not want to spend the rest of her life with an evil dragon.
And if she could not escape, the evil dragon's grooming plan would probably only last a few decades.
She was human. Living to seventy or eighty would already count as a long life.
Of course, some humans could live three to five hundred years. Such humans were powerful Extraordinary Persons.
After raising her for a few decades, only for her to die—would evil dragon Lance be sad?
He probably would be. After raising her for decades, he would surely grow at least a little attached.
Sixty-eight gold coins.
He had sixty-eight gold coins left in Savings.
That was a little too little. He needed to make money.
After all, raising a child like Lucia would definitely cost more than this.
Thinking of Lucia, the little dragon, Lance subconsciously glanced at her. This child was adorably foolish. If she had not run into him, she might have been tricked by humans into becoming a mount someday.
That would be her fate if she encountered good people.
If she encountered bad people, she might lose her life outright.
He would let this child live with him for a while first.
"Lance... y-you... why don't you find a girlfriend?"
Seeing evil dragon Lance looking at her, Lucia hurriedly found a topic to talk about. The pressure from those cold golden-red vertical pupils was too intense.
She simply did not dare meet his gaze.
"I don't feel like it."
When it came to finding a girlfriend, he was rather laid-back. If he met someone he liked and she thought he was decent too, then they would date.
If he did not meet anyone, that just meant his destined relationship had not arrived yet.
Over the past thousand-odd years, he had not encountered a single Pure-Blooded Dragon.
Pure-Blooded Dragons all lived on Dragon Island, but Dragon Island had disappeared from the continent long ago. No one knew where it had drifted off to.
Lance found it somewhat regrettable. From the time he hatched until he became an adult, he had never visited Dragon Island. Forget visiting it—he had never even seen it.
In the past, he often transformed into a human and went to play in the human world. Aside from relieving boredom, he wanted to see if he could encounter any Pure-Blooded Dragons besides himself.
For that reason, he had served as the guard of quite a few beautiful princesses. His original intention had been to see whether any Pure-Blooded Dragons would come to the human world to kidnap princesses.
In the end, because he slacked off too much, he was fired. While active in the human world, he had heard that there were still Pure-Blooded Dragons there, but those Pure-Blooded Dragons all lived in the Sacred Grounds of the various temples.
The Sacred Grounds of the various temples... When he was a little dragon, he had not investigated the strength of the temples. But when he was over two thousand three hundred years old, he explored the Sacred Ground of a certain temple, beat up a clergyman, and drew out a group of powerful clergymen. Luckily, he ran fast enough. "You're already an adult, but you still have no interest in finding a girlfriend?"
"I only became an adult not long ago."
"You really don't like princesses?"
"I don't."
"You only like dragons?"
"For now, yes."
"..."
Lucia felt that she should find a way to escape from evil dragon Lance's side as soon as possible.
For now, she should obediently find somewhere far away from evil dragon Lance to sleep.
Evil dragon Lance's Dragon Lair was spacious and bright. After looking around, Lucia walked over to a spot near the wall. "Can I sleep here?"
"Yes."
"Thank you."
The walls were covered in flowers and grass that emitted a soft glow. Even if she accidentally bumped into the wall while sleeping, she would not have to worry about getting hurt by sharp stones, nor would she have to worry about getting stone dust and mud all over herself.
Evil dragon Lance's Dragon Lair was clean and tidy.
If she had not seen it herself, she would never have believed that the Dragon Lair where evil dragons supposedly lived could be cleaner and warmer than human houses.
"Lucia, can you speak real dragon language?"
"Huh? Real dragon language? I-I-I don't think I can."
She was not even a real little dragon. How could she possibly speak real dragon language?
Humans had their own language, and dragons naturally had their own as well.
Unlike humans, dragons could easily master human language, but even if humans studied it, they found it difficult to learn dragon language.
Even the greatest linguists could not learn dragon language without a dragon personally teaching them.
Lucia felt a little panicked. Could evil dragon Lance have noticed something?
Otherwise, why would he suddenly ask whether she could speak dragon language? "Don't be nervous. Not knowing real dragon language isn't a big problem. I can teach you."
Lance smiled. The reason Lucia was nervous must have been because she was afraid he would dislike her.
Lucia was not a Pureblood Young Dragon. If she were, she would have Memory Inheritance and could not possibly fail to speak real dragon language.
Besides, if this child were a Pureblood Young Dragon, her parents would not have let her run away from Dragon Island.
It did not matter that she was not a Pureblood Young Dragon. As long as this child worked hard enough, she would still have a chance of becoming a Pure-Blooded Dragon.
Drake-blooded dragons had a chance to evolve into Pure-Blooded Dragons.
If a drake-blooded dragon with deep fortune managed to eat one of the legendary divine medicines, it could easily become a Pure-Blooded Dragon.
A powerful drake-blooded dragon that understood how to purify its own bloodline also had a chance to slowly evolve into a Pure-Blooded Dragon.
A spiritually gifted little dragon like Lucia probably had a bloodline infinitely close to that of a Pure-Blooded Dragon.
With just a little effort, she could become a Pure-Blooded Dragon.
"I-I... can I not learn it?"
As an Imperial Princess, she had studied all kinds of knowledge and etiquette since childhood. Now that she had become a little dragon and been captured by an evil dragon, she still had to study. Please spare her.
"No."
"Then I'll learn."
Lucia lay dejectedly on the soft grass. She could not beat him, nor could she argue with him. What else could she do? She could only learn.
Once she learned dragon language and returned to the Farolyn Empire, she would curse Smelly Imperial Sister Asina into shutting herself away with dragon language.
But then again, if evil dragon Lance was teaching her dragon language, should she not teach him something in return? As an Imperial Princess, she had learned many things.
At that thought, Lucia's depressed mood rose again. "Lance, is there anything you... anything you want to eat?"
Halfway through her excited question, Lucia suddenly remembered that evil dragon Lance had said he often transformed into a human to play and study in the human world.
Given evil dragon Lance's age and his ability to learn... he probably already knew everything she did. How had she, an Imperial Princess, become such a useless little thing?
