Military
- The Empire fields cavalry legions built around magical beasts, including Griffons, Earth Dragons, and Flying Dragons 126.
- Its military influence can barely extend to nearby kingdoms and cannot project power into the other three domains 327.
- Griffins and Flying Bears are stationed around the Imperial Palace and reacted to Lucia's return with aggression before being intimidated by her and her followers 473.
- The Empire's Source Power technology is less widespread than that of the Holy Light Empire 447.
Imperial Authority and the Temples
The Empire's major internal political struggle concerns the balance between imperial authority and divine authority. After Asina took the throne, she introduced policies restricting Temple influence, prompting resistance from Temple clergy and divisions among the provinces 464 465.
- In Anselm Province, Martial God Temple clergy had suppressed local government under claims of divine authority. Lucia's arrival led to a Divine Decree ordering clergy not to interfere in imperial politics or disrespect her 467.
- Lucia proposed that Temples retain authority over their internal clergy while imperial law applies to clergy who violate it; conversely, Temples may report governmental blasphemy for imperial investigation 467.
- The Valkyrie Temple formally pledged neutrality in Farolyn imperial affairs after Lucia received Sophia's blessing 471.
- Several provinces remained divided over Asina's anti-Temple policies, with some supporting imperial reform and others opposing restrictions on the Temples 464.

History
Lucia's Disappearance
Lucia, the Empire's third heir, was cursed into a Young Dragon and taken away by Black Dragon Lance. She remained absent from the Imperial Capital for nearly three years, while information about her whereabouts was scarce 326 327 467.
During Lucia's absence, Asina became Emperor. She increased efforts to locate Lucia while also pursuing reforms intended to reduce Temple control over imperial affairs 326 464.
Return of the Third Heir
Lucia returned to the Morning Star Domain accompanied by nine Pure-Blooded Dragons and sought to become Emperor without starting a civil war 464 468. In Anselm Province, Governor Gabriel recognized her as the missing third heir after initially pledging loyalty to Asina 467.
Her actions in Anselm Province, including the cracking of the Martial God Divine Statue and the Divine Decree directed at Temple clergy, spread rapidly through the Empire's Temples and beyond 467 468.
Imperial Succession Duel
Lucia arrived at the Imperial Palace supported by nine Pure-Blooded Dragons, while Krein and Black Dragon Guards of the Holy Light Empire were also present 473. She challenged Asina to a duel for the throne.
Lucia defeated Asina with the Lightning Hammer, after which Asina abdicated and Lucia was crowned Emperor of the Farolyn Empire 474.
Lucia's Brief Reign
As Emperor, Lucia made Asina Regent and delegated military and political affairs to her due to Asina's greater administrative experience and existing support among ministers and nobles 475.
Lucia confronted Temple Cardinals, rejected attempts to place imperial authority beneath divine authority, and held a belated coronation and coming-of-age celebration that collected substantial gifts from nobles and ministers 476 477.
On the seventh day of her reign, Lucia chose to abdicate and return the throne to Asina, giving Asina the final Wisdom Fruit 480.
Foreign Relations
- The Farolyn Empire has no stated prior territorial disputes or contact with the Holy Light Empire, the strongest empire of the Holy Light Domain 472 474.
- Lucia's position as the Holy Light Empire's Little Regent created an unusual connection between the two empires. Holy Light envoy Krein entered Anselm Province with an Aerospace Battleship and three hundred Black Dragon Guards while searching for her 468.
- Krein stated that the Holy Light Empire's forces and Aerospace Battleship were under Lucia's authority, though Lucia insisted that her Farolyn succession dispute was unrelated to the Holy Light Empire 468 474.
- Lucia rejected the idea of using Holy Light military power to seize the Farolyn throne, believing that relying on external force would undermine her achievement and provoke resentment within the Empire 453.
