Sand Worm
"Pah!" A mouthful of bloody saliva was spat by Saine onto Ke Luo Bo's already somewhat shriveled head.
After all his efforts, Saine got was half a broken Magic Staff.
Ke Luo Bo's Magic Staff seems to be even more advanced than Saine's Strong Acid Scepter.
The Magic Inscription inscribed on it far surpass those on Saine's Strong Acid Scepter.
I don't know if it has reached the level of a formal Magic Conductor, but unfortunately it is broken and damaged.
From the chest down, Ke Luo Bo's body was completely gone, including only one arm, which explains why Saine gained nothing from him.
Only a dark spine, connected to some bits of flesh, was presented to Saine.
The fate of the aspiring Black Magician Ke Luo Bo was entirely his own doing.
Having spent half a day putting in a lot of effort but achieving nothing, Saine wanted to vent his frustration.
He raised the broken half of his Magic Staff, just about to throw it away.
In the end, however, it was taken back.
It's at least a partial gain, and the material of this Magic Staff is also quite good.
Even if it seems useless, it doesn't seem like a bad alternative to the Strong Acid Scepter as a digging tool.
With a soft sigh, Saine continued his search in the vicinity.
He really wanted to explore the depths of the central Sand Valley, but a subconscious sense of danger told him that it was best not to do so until his injuries were fully healed.
After three days of searching, Saine discovered the remains of more than a dozen apprentices.
Most of these corpses were buried under the yellow sand and had lost their vital signs. Saine had not yet found any other living people besides himself.
It may have been eroded by the yellow sand, or it may have been affected by the intense energy element ripples during the previous chaos.
Saine collected quite a few mid- to low-level magical items, but most of these items had been destroyed and were of little value.
While a limited portion can still be used with difficulty, its internal element loss is extremely severe, and it remains to be seen whether Saine can repair it.
Putting aside the "junk" he collected, Saine himself also suffered considerable losses.
Not only were there injuries on his body, but the Pale Mask that Saine always wore on his face was also ruined.
The reason he didn't throw it away was that this Low-Level Magic Item was the first piece of magical equipment he had personally captured.
Like the Strong Acid Scepter, it holds some significance for Saine.
If possible, Saine would like to try to fix it in the future.
He collected a total of seven Element Pearl, which were crucial to Saine return to the Underdark.
This number was clearly insufficient for Saine to activate the grip, but he simply couldn't find any more apprentice corpses. →69🅂🄷🅄🅇.🄲🄾🄼
In order to find more apprentice remains, and also to unravel the mystery that had been lingering in my mind for many days.
After his body and Magic Power had almost fully recovered, Saine slowly walked deeper into the center of the Sand Valley.
"The Earth Elemental Shield Ring has suffered some wear and tear, but fortunately, the Invisibility Cloak doesn't seem to be damaged." As he headed to the center of the unknown Sand Valley, Saine activated this High-Level Magic Item.
The terrain of this Sand Valley is quite unique because it is funnel-shaped. As a result, Saine, who is located at the bottom of the valley, has not felt too hot these days, as the sun rarely shines here.
As Saine continued to advance deeper into the center of the Sand Valley, his altitude decreased.
A faint sound of sand flowing arose, and when Saine reached the bottom of the Sand Valley, he even felt a long-lost coolness.
Saying it was cool might not be accurate, because Saine's body was ice-cold at that moment.
At this moment, in front of Saine, the number was countless; at a glance, there were densely packed yellow worms rolling around in the yellow sand.
These bright yellow insects were unlike any of the insect species that Saine had seen before.
Although their bodies appear to be relatively flexible and smooth, what is truly chilling is that these insects have a barbed fang at each end of their heads and tails.
These insects are feeding.
The dry, hard yellow sand, devoid of any nutritional value, is the food for these insects!
Their body length ranges from less than ten centimeters to several meters, demonstrating just how exaggerated their growth potential is.
This is only what Saine can see with his naked eye. Deeper into the insect sea that he cannot see, there may be even larger giant insects.
"Sand Worm" is the name that Saine named this insect in his mind, because it feeds on yellow sand, and the world that Saine is currently in is Yellow Sand World.
But clearly these Sand Worm do not only feed on yellow sand.
Beside the churning Sand Worm, Saine spotted some scattered black Magic Robe.
This is the standard apprentice Magic Robe of the City of Mozhsuobula Black Magic Academy; only the robe remains, the corpses and flesh of the other apprentices are nowhere to be seen.
This shows where they all went.
However, after his body went cold, what immediately warmed Saine up was that he saw about twenty or thirty red Element Pearl scattered around next to the tattered Magic Robe.
These Element Pearl do not appear to be digestible by the Sand Worm.
The mucus from these Sand Worm' mouths can even melt clothing and sand, and for some reason, they are not interested in the Element Pearl.
Saine was so excited that he couldn't wait to rush over and snatch those Element Pearl.
However, before he could act, a giant Sand Worm, over ten meters long and clearly the Sand Worm King, squeezed out from the Sand Worm pile.
What chilled Saine even more was that the giant Sand Worm crawled straight toward his location as soon as it appeared.
With its enormous mouthparts, sharp fangs, and massive size, this giant Sand Worm could easily swallow him whole.
Moreover, this giant Sand Worm did not come alone. As it continued to crawl toward Saine, it was accompanied by countless tiny Sand Worm, as well as two other medium-sized Sand Worm with lengths of three meters and four meters respectively.
"These Sand Worm can see through my Invisibility Cloak?" Saine was startled.
As the giant Sand Worm carried its people away from the sand pit, Saine noticed that there was another world beneath the sand pit.
It was an Underground Space that seemed to have no end in sight, and besides the Sand Worm in front of us, there appeared to be even more Sand Worm below.
There might be beings even more powerful than this giant Sand Worm among them. Seeing the impending danger, Saine turned and ran without hesitation.
Brute force is not Saine's style; a great Mage often wins with wisdom.
Even during his early apprentice stage, his ability to kill Saltwater Crocodile at a higher level was the result of Saine's repeated consideration and mental simulations.
Faced with these Sand Worm of unknown depth and number, Saine needed to plan carefully.
As Saine quickly left, the Sand Worm slowed their pursuit.
It's clear that although these Sand Worm seem to be able to see through Saine's cloaking, their hunting range isn't very far.
So, how exactly did they find Saine?
Is it by smell, temperature, or the Element Power within Saine's body?
