Bernie awoke from his coma. The moment he opened his eyes, he saw Rule Wizard Jerrold and an unfamiliar human wizard.
A communication array had been placed in front of him.
He shook his still-dizzy head and quickly recalled what had just happened.
"Lord Hardy, Bernie is no longer useful. What should we do with him?" Rule Wizard Jerrold asked, bowing to Rule Wizard Hardy.
Naturally, he did not want Bernie to live. Bernie already knew his identity, and he still wanted to continue living among the Dwarf race.
"Keep him. After Abel is captured, deal with them together!" Rule Wizard Hardy glanced at Bernie and spoke in a low voice.
He knew very well that if he killed Bernie now but failed to capture Abel, he would truly become mortal enemies with Abel.
With Bernie in his hands, however, even if the capture failed, he could use Bernie to threaten Abel and prevent him from attacking.
"What have you done?" Although Bernie was still suffering under the effects of the Mental Confusion Potion, he could tell that something was wrong and shouted, "What have you done?"
"Bernie, with your help, we successfully invited Elder Abel out. He will celebrate your promotion to Level 7 Wizard here with you!" Rule Wizard Hardy said in a low voice.
"No, how could this be?" Bernie suddenly leaped up with a roar and lunged forward.
But there were two Rule Wizards standing before him. With nothing more than a thought, they forced him back down onto the ground.
Although the powerful pressure of the Rule Wizards held him down, he continued struggling. Blood flowed from his mouth, and blood also streamed from his eyes.
