Ten days passed. Abel had been staying at the Alchemist Guild in Moga City for ten days now. During that time, he and Master Fetis had hardly taken a single step out of the workshop. Master Fetis had also given it everything he had, demonstrating every metallurgical technique he knew.
Of course, they had failed many times. In particular, as the grades of the metallurgical products increased, the failures became more and more frequent.
The production of advanced metallurgical materials was especially difficult. Each type had barely a one-in-ten chance of success, and every advanced metallurgical material was extremely precious. This was also why advanced alchemists of the Dwarf race were so rare.
Because the materials were precious, alchemists had fewer chances to refine them, and the golden alchemical energy produced was therefore insufficient to meet the requirements for advancement.
To demonstrate everything to Abel, the Alchemist Guild in Moga City had provided Master Fetis with a virtually unlimited supply of materials, allowing him to demonstrate all of his metallurgical techniques.
Only now did Abel understand why he had seen so few magical accessories on the Holy Continent. The reason was that their materials were refined using metallurgy. The materials required for metallurgy were precious to begin with, and the consumption during the refining process meant that only a very small quantity could be produced each time.
This meant that metallurgical materials could generally only be used to make small items. The largest was a wizard's short staff, and even that required multiple refinements to produce enough raw material for a single short staff.
The difficulty of producing the materials, combined with the failure rate involved in making magical accessories, was why every magical accessory was frantically sought after across the Holy Continent.
"Master Bennett, have you mastered it?" Master
