Background

Fang Jing initially suffers from a serious illness and lives with Fang Mu in a rented bungalow within the county office. Her complexion improves after Fang Mu gives her a low-grade Essence Blood Pill, though he limits further doses because her body is weak. 5

She accepts Fang Mu's clone after meeting it at home and enjoys Xixi's company, giving her companionship while Fang Mu is away demon slaying. 14 Fang Mu repeatedly treats her safety as his foremost concern, concealing her unusual power and arranging protection from his clone, Xixi, or Qi Zhu whenever danger threatens. 13 24 30
