Gilneas in Turmoil

Eastern Kingdoms, Gilneas Kingdom.

The civil war between the ruling powers here had grown increasingly fierce, its flames spreading across the entire nation. With the wild Worgen suddenly joining the chaos, biting and killing anyone they encountered, all of Gilneas Kingdom had become a complete mess, fighting breaking out everywhere.

The borders had been reopened for some time now, and both King Genn Greymane and Lord Godfrey, the two sides in this civil war, had basically come to understand the many facets of this new era and its entirely new rules of the game.

The old days were gone, and the outside world had become utterly unfamiliar. The bitter consequences of shutting themselves away now had to be paid for by all Gilneans together.

Lord Godfrey once again dispatched an envoy delegation to the capital of Lordaeron for a second round of political contact, and this time, they had come prepared.

King Genn Greymane had originally intended to send out his own second delegation as well, but a group of visitors from the south of the continent secretly arrived in Gilneas, completely disrupting Genn's original plans.

They were secret envoys of the Southern Alliance. Their purpose was simple: to recruit the Greymane royal family into the Southern Alliance and bring them onto the same side as the Stormwind Kingdom.

Naturally, the intention behind this was equally simple: to plant a nail right under the Northern Alliance's nose and establish a bridgehead that could serve as a check against them.

Moreover, the Southern Alliance was extraordinarily generous, offering manpower when manpower was needed and money when money was needed. Their only demand was that King Genn lead the Gilneas Kingdom into the alliance, that the Worgen legions serve the alliance's armies, and that they guarantee they would not pull out of
