Background / History

Jiang Xue was sent abroad at sixteen and remained there for four years, leaving much of the younger Jiang generation unfamiliar with her current appearance and mannerisms. This absence enabled Liang Qiushi’s plan to replace her with Li Wei without immediate exposure 11.

While staying at a secluded British estate, Jiang Xue reluctantly prepared Li Wei to assume her identity. She surrendered identification materials, personal belongings, and the tablet containing the first stance of the Jiang Family’s Nine Moon Reflection Swords. She regarded Li Wei as a disposable substitute rather than an equal 14 15.

Jiang Xue had spent four years unable to understand Cold Pool Sinking Jade. Li Wei’s mastery of the technique in minutes provoked an explosive confrontation: Jiang Xue attacked her, but Li Wei disarmed her and held a sword to her neck 16. Afterwards, Jiang Xue admitted that she feared death and wanted to live for a long time, while remaining curious about how far the Jiang and Gu families’ scheme would go 17.

Her hostility conceals pronounced fear and vulnerability. After being overpowered by Li Wei, she stopped openly taunting her during etiquette lessons because she feared having a sword put to her neck again. She openly admits that she is afraid of dying and wants a long life 17.

After returning from England, Jiang Xue remains provocative and confrontational. Her reunion with Yun Xi is marked by deliberate needling, cutting insults, and indifference toward Yun Xi’s apology or concerns about her engagement 409.
