Background / History

Zhao Xianyu served as the Mountain God under Zhang Yang’s direction. Zhang Yang controlled the Mountain God Token’s belief resources and initially limited Zhao Xianyu’s growth for fear that their activities could expose their home world 131 139. When otherworldly threats struck Storm City, Zhao Xianyu issued edicts, gathered believers, and organized its defenses on Zhang Yang’s orders 140.

Before leaving Storm City, Zhang Yang helped Zhao Xianyu inherit its Divine Kingdom, then unbound him from the Mountain God Order. Zhang Yang also imposed rules intended to restrain both Zhao Xianyu and Storm Kingdom’s first king, Lame Robin 147.

More than two thousand years later, Zhao Xianyu had built a prosperous kingdom with tens of millions of subjects and had turned against Zhang Yang 185 189. His Divine Power Network collapsed when the Spiritual Qi Resurgence enabled people to challenge and kill gods, leaving the kingdom exposed to invasion 196. Weakened and surrounded, Zhao Xianyu spoke to Zhang Yang once more before ending his own life on the divine throne rather than being captured 197 198.
