Background & History
Ji was born in Wright City on December 1, 2200. Abandoned at birth, she lived in an orphanage until age seven, when she was sold to an illegal Ability User cultivation organization. The organization used her as an experimental subject for twelve years because of her exceptional resistance to drug side effects, but failed to awaken an ability in her. 2 3
After becoming a Herrscher, Ji regarded God as the being that had found and affirmed her. She accepted the title of the First Herrscher, the Herrscher of Reason, and became an envoy of the Honkai. Her recovered memories identify her as “Gu Ji,” a girl shaped by experimentation, despair, and manipulation into an indifferent executioner serving what she understood as God’s will. 2 35
Ji’s first major appearance was the destruction of Jinshan City. She effortlessly repelled military weapons, created copies of incoming missiles, manifested a nuclear bomb, and later struck twenty-six coastal cities with nuclear missiles before openly declaring war on humanity. 2 3
While travelling toward Jinshan City, Ji sensed an unusually concentrated source of Honkai Energy and became excited at the prospect that another Herrscher might be emerging. She considered the potential being one of God’s children and felt an instinctive desire to protect it. 5
Upon meeting Gu Yan, Ji immediately perceived him as an incomplete Herrscher and treated him as her younger brother. This attachment repeatedly affected her actions: she avoided attacking his position, restrained herself when she could have seriously injured him, and later spared his life during the Madagascar battle. 8 10 29
At Madagascar, Ji established a fortress defended by floating battleships, automated weapons, and an anti-biological energy shield. She massacred numerous Ability Users while fighting Xu Muchi and the assembled coalition, but was eventually wounded and cornered. Rather than surrender the Insight Gem, she unleashed its Honkai Energy while escaping with Morr. 26 28 30
After the battle, Ji travelled with Morr and expressed a desire to experience human life. She also decided to protect humans, including Gu Yan. 37
Appearance
Ji resembles a young Western woman with an angelic, almost divine presence. She is often seen hovering above battlefields or riding atop Morr, maintaining a calm elegance even amid destruction. 1 8 10
- Chestnut hair and light blue eyes. 1 8
- A typical Western facial appearance and youthful build. 1
- Usually wears a long, flowing dress likened to clouds and mist. 1 17
- Commonly manifests cerulean or sapphire-blue weapons, especially spears. 2 8
- Her eyes can display patterns when using Insight. 26
Personality
Ji is contemptuous of humanity and frequently calls humans “ants,” considering their military resistance futile. She takes visible pleasure in overwhelming opponents and responds to challenges with mockery, arrogance, and escalating violence. 2 6 28
Her cruelty is tied to her past and devotion to God rather than simple indifference. As Gu Ji, she viewed humanity largely through the experiences of experimentation and abuse inflicted upon her; serving God became both her purpose and her answer to that suffering. 35 36
Despite her hostility toward humanity, Ji has a markedly gentler side toward Gu Yan. She sees him as family, worries about hurting him, and repeatedly abandons attacks that could seriously injure him. 8 9 10 36
Ji also shows an unexpectedly playful and domestic side around Morr, scolding her like a troublesome child while initiating a snowball fight in Siberia. 37
Abilities & Skills
Herrscher of Reason Authority
Ji possesses the authority of Constructs and Insight as the Herrscher of Reason. Her power allows her to turn imagined technology into physical weapons and machines. 2 8
- Creates spears, swords, sabers, whips, shields, armor, artillery, drones, mechs, fighter jets, and floating battleships. 2 26 28
- Materialized a nuclear bomb and replicated incoming carrier-based missiles. 2
- Constructed the Mechanical Dragon Morr. 8
- Can create technology beyond the world’s normal development without pilots or resupply lines. 26
- Uses cold weapons as preferred vessels for Honkai Energy in close combat. 28
Insight
Insight grants Ji extraordinary perception, comprehension, and analysis. It also enables communication across language barriers. 8 9
- Learned Ancient Martial Arts from Xu Muchi and Gu Yan’s movements during a single extended battle. 9
- Rapidly advanced from no martial arts knowledge to LV51 mastery, though without true comprehension. 9

Honkai Energy Manipulation
Ji wields vast Honkai Energy for offense, mobility, defense, and regeneration. 2 9
- Generates energy shields capable of stopping artillery, missiles, and reduced-yield nuclear weapons without injury. 2 6

Constructs
- Morr — Ji’s Mechanical Dragon and closest companion. Initially a massive metallic dragon, Morr later receives a constructed imitation Herrscher Core, gains independent consciousness, and becomes a Quasi-Herrscher. 8 28
- Floating Battleships — autonomous airborne warships created to defend Ji’s Madagascar fortress and bombard enemies. 26 27
- Anti-biological energy shield — a barrier highly resistant to Ability-based attacks, though kinetic force and non-Ability attacks can exploit its weakness. 28 29
- Insight Gem — the Herrscher Core of Reason; the source of Ji’s immense energy and a vessel capable of housing a Herrscher’s consciousness. 30
Relationships
- Gu Yan — Ji considers him her younger brother and repeatedly refrains from seriously harming him, even while opposing humanity. Gu Yan later experiences Gu Ji’s memories and develops guilt and sympathy for her. 8 10 30 35 36
