Background / History

Rebirth and the Chuan Family

Zhang Qing enters the Dark Realm with knowledge from his previous life and takes over the identity of a bonded Chuan Family guard in Zi City. The identity’s former owner had been sold by human traffickers and selected for guard work because of his large build. His assigned marriage conceals a lethal condition: once his wife becomes pregnant, he is to become an ancestral offering 2 10 14.

He initially concentrates on establishing a believable persona. Rapid technique improvements let him present himself as a newly awakened martial prodigy rather than an outsider. Chuan Jia notices him and recruits him into First-grade Hall, which orders him to report on Razor’s activities. Zhang Qing recognizes the arrangement as an attempt to use him as a disposable pawn 15 16.

Building a Foothold in Zi City

Zhang Qing uses Chuan Family resources, Razor missions, spirit pills, and kills to strengthen himself while concealing the speed of his advancement. Chuan Jia increases his allowance after hearing his declarations of loyalty, but the elder’s actual interest is in using him against Grace Yang 21 24 27.

The Chuan Family’s destruction removes the immediate threat of ancestral sacrifice. Zhang Qing develops overlapping positions within the Yu Family’s Dark Hall and Grace Yang’s Ghoul Blood Hall, eventually serving as a Ghoul Blood Hall captain. Dark Hall membership gives him access to restricted information, secret arts, and Adamantine Weapon forging 38 75 106.

During this period, he discovers advanced circuitry inside a Forbidden Item, investigates the families’ Ghoul Blood Warrior schemes, and accumulates resources during the Shui Family siege. Guan Yutian and other acquaintances also purchase Yun Xiaoxi for him; their initially guarded relationship eventually becomes mutual affection 44 69 64 682.

Entering the Survival Sequence

While surrounded by family ancestors and the Moth Specter, Zhang Qing breaks through to Moon-Shattering and fights Yu Tianhai. His struggle to survive is tied to a larger objective: preserving Blue Star without allowing himself to become another sacrifice 121 122.

He activates Star Steel and becomes a Survival Sequence User. Evolution turns the families’ technique collections into nourishment for his own abilities, while further hunting provides the Attribute Points needed to reach Morning Sun. By Sequence Two, his armor, weaponry, and extraordinary health make him a strategic asset for Great Xia 123 131 148 163 165.

Taking An City

In An City, Zhang Qing combines previous-life knowledge with leverage over Mo Li’s embezzlement records. He establishes the Zhang Family, acquires the Xue Family’s holdings, and recruits old acquaintances such as Guan Yutian and Pusan. His dealings with City Lord Shami are framed as an exchange of favors between future peers 170 175 178 179 183.

His preparations for Sequence Three extend across both the Dark Realm and Great Xia. In reality, he performs numerous social roles to complete Sequence Two’s Origin Points; in An City, he conceals his intentions within a network of promises and lies. After his victory and advancement, Fan Adkin clears the city’s fate marks and residents’ memories of the Sequence. Zhang Qing claims An City and assigns his followers to rebuild its guards, administration, and Razor organization 205 213 214.

Imperial Cities and Blue Star’s Defense

Zhang Qing’s reputation spreads through battles with Sky City forces and his cooperation with Grace Yang. Su Yue offers Ancient Precision Technology information in exchange for help with her Succession Competition; he takes the material back to Great Xia for verification and supports the Southern Heavenly Gate project 238 240 244.

He helps Su Yue complete her Theater at Treasure Snatching Mountain, obtains Blood Fang, and accepts Old Fan Deng’s mission to Serpent Emperor City in exchange for Scale and nine Fate Stones. He later confronts Chen Lan, rejecting the Blood Venerable’s attempt to redirect him toward Martial Path Extreme authority at the expense of his Survival Sequence 308 313 323 350.

When Blue Star comes under attack, Zhang Qing’s intervention sharply raises player morale. His support also improves the position of Great Xia’s merchants in the Dark Realm: caravans carrying Blood Dragon Banners can enter cities without entry fees 360 376.

Breaking the Fate Game

Fan Adkin’s chessboard reveals Zhang Qing as a piece contested by the Sixth Floor, Sky City, and the Imperial City Lord. Even with powerful allies lending strength to his phantom, he cannot overturn the board. Rather than accept its best projected outcome—becoming a Sovereign—he resolves to defeat the players themselves 425.

He secretly arranges access to the Sky Planet Array and advances to Sequence Six. Later, he suspects Yun Xiaoxi is concealing her dealings with the Sixth Floor and marks her with the Nirvana Mark. When Jie and The Pale attempt to erase his present through a causal trap targeting his past, he breaks free by asserting his identity and unleashing Spark Authority 451 453 474 493.

Zhang Qing eventually damages Hao’s Survival Authority enough to prevent Hao’s Ultimate Leap for the foreseeable future. Returning to Great Xia, he confronts the bodies of fallen allies and promises at the memorial to find a way to bring them back 545.

Beyond the Dark Realm

Zhang Qing becomes a bridge between the Progenitors and Imperial City Lords, standing as the strongest among those gathered. He investigates the flaws and costs of inherited Venerable Lord power and develops methods to strengthen his True Spirit 548 569 587.

Unwilling to remain in a world whose upward path has been severed, he leaves to consolidate his foundations elsewhere. In the Chaos Sea, he decides to exploit an immature universe’s developing Divine Rules and helps Yun Xiaoxi claim the Gold Divine Rule Star 615 616 620.

The Powerholder reveals that Zhang Qing’s journey followed a designed script and offers him a path toward becoming a Powerholder. Zhang Qing later passes through the Bronze Gate, arriving on a metal platform where a transmission calls for reinforcements at Battlefield No. 1 656 667.

His ethics are flexible when survival is at stake. Early on, he treats Yun Xiaoxi as a potential shield against hostile factions and routinely mixes lies with genuine commitments. He prefers exploiting interests, favors, and leverage to relying on goodwill alone 64 95 205 215.

That self-preservation coexists with fierce attachment to Great Xia. He rejects the idea that he must be sacrificed and seeks a way to preserve both himself and Blue Star. His resistance to fate becomes increasingly direct as he gains the strength to challenge those manipulating him 122 259 425.
