The outside world was facing countless collapses and reorganizations. This process might continue for a very long time, while the gods "imprisoned" by Truth in a corner of the world had not been idle either. They had begun their second game.
After Truth destroyed itself, Order appeared at once. That resounding voice of order drowned out the noise of world destruction and once again drew the gods into a brilliant, orderly starry sky.
The gods sat facing one another. Seven seats were empty: Prosperity, Filth and Decay, Decay, Truth, War, Folly, and Time were all absent.
The remaining nine were the voters at today's Gods' Covenant Assembly, and today's topic was simple enough: how to distribute Truth's authority!
Even though the universe was undergoing its apocalypse, Order carried out the covenant's agreement to the letter, as though the destruction of the world had nothing to do with it.
Indeed, the covenant had only stipulated at its creation that divine authorities were to be protected from being lost. It had never stated that the universe itself had to be preserved from collapse. Thus, at this moment, although Order had prevented the gods from "saving the world," it was still acting in accordance with "order."
The heavenly scales representing the fairest justice in the universe first glanced at the Iron Rule of Order in the seat belonging to Order, then spoke in a buzzing voice:
"Truth destroyed its divine seat, leaving behind its authority, and issued its final oracle:
Truth lies in seeking, in accumulation, and in specialization. Therefore, I shall not let the gods divide and consume my authority. Instead, I shall grant all my authority to a single god. Whoever is willing to take over my authority may attend the assembly and obtain it with more than half the votes.
