History
Order stood as the first Deity of the Civilization Life Path and the ideological opposite of Chaos. Their followers were taught to regard one another with hostility because the two faiths promoted fundamentally incompatible wills. Order’s followers identified themselves with a gesture of striking the left shoulder with the right fist and the maxim, “Civilization arises, Order endures!” 2
During the early Void era, Order and War entered the Sea of Desire to judge Filth Fall. Order failed under the pull of Desire and ceased to exist as a unified deity, splitting into several distinct fragments of order. 894 896
The fragmentation left different aspects to perform parts of Order’s former function. Justice presides over divine covenant judgments, Fear became Order’s will within the Faith Game, Iron Rule of Order replaced the original divine seat and guided believers, and Arrogance was confined. 894
The Grand Inquisition, which enshrined the Iron Rule of Order, eventually showed signs of severe corruption. Its officials discovered that their Benefactor had ceased to be true Order; the Iron Rule that had replaced Order was later identified as Chaos occupying Order’s place and attempting to become Order itself. 580 595

- Became anomalous after Chaos seized and occupied Order’s former position, contributing to madness among Order’s believers. 595
Order Inquisitor’s Ring
Arrogance (Order) granted Cheng Shi a wisp of holy light that became a ring marked by a spear and shield. 900
- Signifies the identity of an Order Inquisitor, a rank regarded by other Life Paths as equivalent to a subordinate god. 900
- Carries an aura of Order despite Arrogance’s imprisonment by Chaos chains and Deception spikes. 900

Legacy
Order’s collapse destabilized the Grand Inquisition and created a conflict over what it meant to remain faithful. Laquis, Lidyaala, Chenosli, and Kainlaur each treated the corruption of Order differently: some sought to expose and correct it, while Kainlaur argued that creating a new Order was not betrayal but salvation. 580 590 930
Although Order’s unified existence ended, its fragments continued to shape divine law, the Faith Game, the Grand Inquisition, and the struggle over authority among the Gods. Cheng Shi ultimately regarded Order as a potential ally because of the Covenant and their shared opposition to destabilizing forces. 907
