By day, Drywater Town was no different in layout from any other small town.

Lu Ban, wearing a windbreaker that clashed with his surroundings, came to the inn's first floor and laid out the coins in his hand in a row.

"Boss, heat up two ounces of wine and give me a bowl of aniseed beans."

He said it casually.

A pot of wine and a plate of dried fish sat on the table. Lu Ban noticed that the shop's cat was rubbing against his trouser leg. He picked up a strip of dried fish and placed it in front of the cat, letting it sniff. The cat became extremely excited and let out a series of eager meows.

Then it watched helplessly as Lu Ban took the dried fish back and ate it in one bite.

The cat froze. Its eyes seemed to fill with tears as it began meowing frantically.

"Are you a devil?"

Trist tossed a strip of dried fish in front of the cat. As he watched it happily eat, he made the remark.

"Boss, do you know anything about the Hai family? I heard they can bring fishermen a bountiful catch?"
