Walking through the forest, Old Eggplant suddenly felt as though he were on a night march during military training back in college.
Once that feeling took hold, he wanted to sing a song.
He wondered whether singing was allowed in this game.
So Old Eggplant asked.
"Report, Sir Knight, can we sing?"
When Brown heard Old Eggplant, he nearly fell off his horse.
What was the point of singing?
Weren't they afraid of attracting the monsters in the Black Forest?
"No. We can't make too much noise here. Once we leave the forest, you can sing all you want."
Brown hurriedly tried to stop him.
Old Eggplant could only give up. Otherwise, singing The Returning Marksman while marching in formation would have been such a wonderful thing.
Fortunately, they were not far from the edge of the forest.
Light soon appeared ahead. Old Eggplant saw the trees growing sparse and stepped into the sunlight.
A whole world unfolded before him.
He saw scattered fields with people working in them, houses and watchtowers in the distance, and a barren stretch of land.
"So this is the Night Country?"
Old Eggplant, like the other players, sighed with emotion.
This was completely different from the magical civilization they had imagined. It looked more like some backward, impoverished mountain village.
The villagers all wore numb expressions and rarely spoke. The appearance of this group of players elicited not the slightest reaction from them, and there was no ripple of emotion to be seen.
"Looks like the NPC tuning here isn't finished yet. Only a small number of NPCs have independent consciousness. Those are probably just the passersby."
