After carefully examining the photos of the children in the town, Lu Ban confirmed that the three children he had seen on the beach during the day were not any of the children in the photos.
This difference wasn't caused by the angle of the photographs, makeup, or anything like that. The photos showed the children in ordinary daily-life shots or group pictures. They weren't the same children who had called Lu Ban "dead."
"The children on this island usually go to boarding school. It's on the island we flew from. It's still summer vacation now, though, so they're all at home."
