Background / History

God Slayers are a special category of NPC that normally appears only in dungeons containing a Con artist. They are former players who died in that same instance, making them familiar with its layout, environment, and dangers. Their infiltration raises a dungeon's difficulty and can lead players into fatal mistakes or total annihilation. 1 2 3

In the Death Train instance, the God Slayer entered the group while posing as a player; although seven figures were present, the system listed only six players. The God Slayer's presence caused the party to turn on one another, obscuring both the Con artist and the killer's identity. 1 2

The Death Train God Slayer was ultimately revealed as Xiao Fen, who had disguised herself as the little girl “Grandpa Niu Cosplays Maid to Seduce Zhuang Zhuang's Mom.” She was formerly a Hypnotist and used her retained abilities to falsify the group's perception of her profession. 29 42

Role in the Dungeon

• God Slayers infiltrate player teams and conceal their identity as ordinary participants. 1 2
• Their objective is to obstruct exploration and eliminate players; a complete player wipe is treated as a successful outcome. 3
• They may exploit mistrust, false identities, and their knowledge of the instance to fracture party cohesion before attacking. 2 3 29
• In the first round of Death Train, Xiao Fen and her Accomplice killed the Teacher and Thug to generate confusion and prevent access to a crucial clue. 21 29
• God Slayers are not necessarily given every detail of the dungeon's main quest, limiting their ability to directly control an instance's outcome. 30 39

Retained Professional Skills

God Slayers can retain skills from their lives as players, allowing them to use former Character Card abilities after becoming NPCs. 10

• Xiao Fen retained the Hypnotist ability [Hypnosis], causing the group to believe she had spoken during the profession-introduction phase. 29
• Her use of illusion let her avoid directly violating the rule that NPCs do not lie. 25 29
• Retained skills can make a God Slayer difficult to identify through ordinary observation alone. 10 42

Knowledge of the Instance

As deceased former participants, God Slayers possess familiarity with the dungeon in which they appear. 2

• They can navigate the environment and exploit its rules more effectively than inexperienced players. 2
• Xiao Fen understood that the Teacher was vital to obtaining a key clue and arranged for the Teacher's death in the first round. 21 30
• Their knowledge does not guarantee full awareness of every player quest or the dungeon's complete solution. 30 39

Manipulation and Infiltration

• Xiao Fen planned to use early deaths and mutual accusations to divide the surviving players into hostile factions. 29

Limitations

• NPCs are bound by rules and cannot directly lie; however, illusion-based skills may deceive players without a spoken falsehood. 25 29
• A God Slayer can be exposed when players correctly analyze the dungeon's roles, prior deaths, and inconsistencies in claimed identities. 29 30
• Failure to prevent the Con artist from clearing the dungeon results in Divine Punishment, erasing the God Slayer to preserve the system's balance. 30 39
• Their self-awareness makes them potentially unreliable servants of the system: a surviving God Slayer who learns too much could reveal dungeon information to future players. 30 39

• Qin Shang — The Con artist in the Death Train instance. Xiao Fen initially intended to kill him, but spared him after his actions made her a prime suspect and after he repeatedly protected her. 29 30
• Xiao Fen / “Grandpa Niu Cosplays Maid to Seduce Zhuang Zhuang's Mom” — A former Hypnotist revealed as the Death Train God Slayer. 29 30 42

Story Role / Major Arcs

*Death Train*

The God Slayer's existence is announced at the beginning of the instance, immediately changing the apparent seven-person party into a hidden-role conflict. The players know that one figure among them is not a player, but cannot determine who. 1

During the first exploration round, the God Slayer and Accomplice exploit the dark tunnel to kill two participants. Their attacks eliminate the Teacher before the party can obtain the clue later identified as crucial to the dungeon's solution. 6 21 29

In the second round, Qin Shang gradually eliminates the Sheriff and Elder Priest as suspects after confirming they are living players through their use of items. This leaves Xiao Fen as the only viable God Slayer candidate. 26 29

Xiao Fen admits her identity after Qin Shang exposes her. She explains that she spared him because killing him would have immediately implicated her, and because his earlier kindness and protection affected her decision. After Qin Shang clears the instance, she is erased by Divine Punishment for failing her mission. 29 30 39

Trivia

• The phrase “the pinker the slippers, the deadlier the killer” becomes an accidental hint toward Xiao Fen, whose pink clothing draws suspicion long before her identity is proven. 7 29
• Qin Shang survives the Death Train largely because he unknowingly travels alongside its God Slayer, prompting the Sheriff to regard his survival as extraordinary. 30
