Every wizard near Despair Valley's Wizard Town looked up and saw Wizard Probus put his head back on his neck. He had come back to life. Only the White Frost Witch knew nothing of it. With her back to Wizard Probus's Echo Body, she walked through the air, freezing the clouds into frost beneath her feet.
Hail fell steadily in her wake.
Wizard Probus stretched a hand toward the gate of the Despair Valley Laboratory. Only Locke and a few wizards with powerful Magic Eyes noticed the immense Abyssal power erupting from it. Terrifying quantities poured from the laboratory gate Locke had forced into the open, while bells rang out one after another.
The sky flickered between light and dark.
Wizard Probus's hair and beard bristled with fury. His recent death had somehow restored his Magic Pressure to a level comparable to a Moon-Ring Wizard's. But he had strayed too far from the Despair Valley Laboratory, and the Plane Principle of the Wizarding World pressed down on his shoulders like a massive mountain, demanding that he yield.
In the Wizarding World, the Magic Pressure of a Great Magic forged only through Void Forging could never exceed thirty thousand.
Locke realized that this rule seemed to have become a Plane Principle of the Wizarding World, a defining trait of the world itself. A mountain formed of Magic Pressure now bore down on Probus's shoulders. Amid the terrifying winds it raised, Locke saw the word "Void" on its peak.
Locke could also see what others could not. Behind Wizard Probus, the stunningly beautiful Abyss Queen stood upon a spiral staircase resembling a DNA helix. She sang a sacred, ethereal song and extended her fair hand toward him, inviting him to complete the King-Making Ritual.
The Abyss Queen sang, "O Abyss, all know
