Locke glanced at his arm, the one Witch Macedon had grabbed.
His Innate Magic Eye opened on his forehead, revealing a cabbage leaf on his sleeve. The witch clearly had not trusted him. When she grabbed his arm, she had planted an invisible leaf on his clothing to keep watch on him.
It had also been a test.
She must have suspected he was not a Third-Ring Wizard, which was why she had acted so suddenly.
A flash of magical light crossed the Death God Elder Ring on his finger. Under the ring's power, the tracking Spell Model placed on his arm rapidly vanished, absorbed by the ring.
But that counted as one use of a Third-Ring magic artifact. The Magic Pressure Sea Queen Throne had left inside it was quickly exhausted.
Locke turned to leave as fast as he could.
The Death God Elder Ring was remarkable. It had automatically broken Witch Macedon's tracking spell and, for the moment, made her think twice. But the ring could run out of magic at any time. Once its Magic Pressure was gone, he would have a hard time explaining himself.
Sea Queen Throne had certainly given him a troublesome task.
Still, she had helped him deal with the mark Throne of Good and Evil had left on him as soon as they met.
Witch Macedon watched Locke's retreating back. "The Thousand-Li Cabbage-Leaf Tracking Curse I put on his arm lost its effect just like that. Was I overthinking it?"
Locke was about to put some distance between them when gray bone spikes suddenly rose from the ground.
"An upper-level summon," Witch Macedon said.
The ancient beast bones formed a wizard array. An enormous ancient creature seemed to approach from another world, one of its eyes appearing behind a spatial rift.
