Inside the director's office, Locke followed the director's instructions and rode a floating staircase up here. Before him stood an enormous library, like a maze, filled with treasured magic books. Some magic artifacts and magic stones had been casually tossed beside the bookshelves.
Every magic book on the shelves was spotless, clearly carefully maintained. Yet the piles of precious treasures on the floor were covered in dust.
Locke examined the treasures scattered across the ground and actually discovered a small set of Power Gems here.
Things that people outside pursued with such madness had been casually tossed onto the floor like insignificant pebbles.
Locke walked to the center of this vast and complicated library and found the old man. The old man's entire body was practically stone, while three azure golems served around him. The old man looked at Locke and said, "You have arrived, Mr. Locke."
Locke lowered his head in salute, only to discover that when he straightened up, the old man's seat had vanished.
The director's voice sounded from behind Locke. "You should already know my identity. Your salute was far too rash. In the Wizarding World, I am the director, a man of high status and great authority. I am a Fourth-Ring Wizard, respected and esteemed. But among the Natural Guardians, you and I are both merely guardians."
"Locke Augustine, there is no third wizard here, so we may regard each other as peers."
Locke nodded. "Director, you truly are a Natural Guardian as well."
A smile appeared on the director's face. "Young friend Locke, let me ask you this: are you a ferocious beast?"
Locke said, "Yes, Director."
