Golden Crown Mountain, Little Peach Mountain, Ghost Gate Pass, the summit of Infinity Mountain.
Locke turned his right hand over. A black Magic Cube the size of a fingernail floated above his palm, spinning. Every turn stirred a surge of strange energy.
Many wizards were still on Infinity Mountain, entering the void's near-world orbit or its trade routes from here.
Above the Wizarding World stretched special trade routes built on powerful Golden Magic, with magic from the Spellcraft School and the Summoning School. These routes could accelerate any flying device traveling through the Great Void.
After all, the Great Void was immense. Its scale far exceeded the imagination of anyone living within a plane. Without taking a [trade route], a void craft entering the Great Void would probably only be able to wander around near-world orbit.
Locke infused his Great Magic into the Void Magic Cube in his hand. It quickly changed from black to emerald green. He raised the cube and murmured an incantation. At once, it began to transform, with sparks of magic swirling around it.
Then the cube grew from the size of a thumb to the size of a basketball, changing from an ordinary cube into an octahedron. It shot into the void, plunged into a [trade route], and vanished within it.
Through the incantation, Locke had already given it the coordinates of a Void Plane. The cube would enter the void, locate its target, and extract some of that plane's Plane Power before returning.
Locke checked the virtual clock on the Water Gourd System.
Beside him, a burly man in wizard robes glanced at Locke and smiled. "Your first time launching a Void Magic Cube?"
"Your Void Magic Cube probably won't be back for a week. And that's with the trade route speeding it up.
