Chapter 929: Falling into the Abyss and the Meaning of Atavistic Evolution
Locke had Douglas and Mason Witch find him some paper and pens, then began working out the calculations on them.
A day later, Locke used thirty sheets of draft paper to design a complex variation of the Golden Incantation. Mason Witch and Douglas exchanged glances, both seeing surprise in the other's eyes.
He had made large-scale changes to the Spell Model directly, without using Queen's Chessboard to assist with the deduction?
Mason Witch exclaimed, "Is this the power of a Second-Ring Great Wizard?"
Douglas said, "No. I don't think ordinary Second-Ring Wizards can do this."
"The little boss is simply amazing himself."
Mason Witch asked in confusion, "But if you use Queen's Chessboard, wouldn't it be faster and better to modify the Spell Model? When I worked with those Second-Ring Wizards, I saw them all use Queen's Chessboard that way."
Locke suddenly turned to her and said, "Using Queen's Chessboard to deduce a Spell Model may seem to accelerate and assist the process, but compared with a Spell Model adjusted by a wizard from beginning to end, it causes an imperceptible degradation of the Spell Model."
Mason Witch looked puzzled.
Douglas, however, seemed to have thought of something and nodded in agreement.
Locke said, "Queen's Chessboard is merely a wizard's choice when they have no other option. But for a Spell Model that can be modified quickly, there's no need to use Queen's Chessboard to assist with the deduction."
"A Spell Model modified with Queen's Chessboard will lack details."
"What's most frightening is that it's difficult to detect."
Locke inserted the Golden Incantation into his Atavistic Evolution. Next, a Moon of Evolution appeared behind him. Two enchanted blades, one silver and one gold, shot out from the moon.
