Four-Person Date
Thursday.
Palma Garden Restaurant.
Adam, Caroline, Chandler, and Aurora's four-person date begins.
Dating in the United States has some interesting aspects.
Often, it's not men chatting with men or women chatting with women, but rather men chatting with their girlfriends or their girlfriends chatting with their boyfriends' girlfriends.
This design is likely based on human nature, such as the idea that chatting with a man and a woman is less tiring, or that people always crave novelty...
So at this moment, Adam could only politely turn sideways to chat with Aurora.
"So, Adam, I heard you're a writer?"
Aurora had alluring eyes and a seductive voice; she exuded romanticism from head to toe.
"I am still a student, and writing is just a part-time job."
Adam smiled reservedly and with a sense of distance.
In his eyes, this romanticism can be described in one sentence. "Boats linked by iron chains don't get seasick."
Most people should keep their distance, and the same applies to someone like Adam from Class 28.
"That's still very impressive."
Aurora rested her chin on her hand, her long curly hair partially obscuring her eyes, and stared straight at Adam with admiration almost overflowing in her eyes. This made Adam subconsciously think of the two important places where Supreme Treasure became Sun Wukong.
Spiderweb Cave and Water Curtain Cave.
Adam couldn't help but glance at Chandler, who was chatting politely with Caroline, seemingly unaware of what was happening here.
"Chandler is my good friend."
Adam reminded him.
"So?"
Aurora smiled charmingly.
So please don't hurt him.
Adam frowned.
Where did I hurt him?
Aurora chuckled.
"What were you about to do with your foot just now?"
Adam quipped, "Are you also curious how many coins I have in my pocket?"
"Is that not allowed?"
Aurora, completely oblivious to Adam's coldness, assumed Adam was just like any other man she'd encountered before, only experiencing initial discomfort. Intrigued, she continued to extend her long legs towards Adam from under the table, saying suggestively, "I'm sure you have a whole roll of coins in your pocket~"
That's enough.
Adam stopped her again, warning her in a low voice, "Chandler is right across from you, please show some respect."
Are you worried he'll be angry?
Aurora became increasingly interested in Adam. The young and handsome writer, who was also Chandler's good friend, made it hard for her to resist, and she had never had the habit of restraining herself.
"Don't worry, Chandler won't be angry. You should know that I have a husband and a boyfriend, and Chandler has no problem with that at all."
At this point, her eyes began to light up. "And I heard him say that your views on love are the same as mine. You and Caroline are the same, aren't you? Maybe we can..."
"Stop!"
Adam couldn't take it anymore; if he kept talking, he'd get a warning from the electric dancers. So he simply got up and left, making an excuse to go to the restroom. He gave Chandler a wink, and Chandler followed with a smile.
"What's wrong?"
"This is what happened..."
After careful consideration, Adam tactfully explained the situation, "Caroline and I are going to leave first. You two continue?"
Chandler's mouth gaped open, and he couldn't close it for a long time.
Aurora's husband Rick and boyfriend Ethan, whom she had mentioned before, were not here. He only had a general idea of them, so he accepted it quickly.
Now, suddenly realizing that Aurora is dragging her best friend along with him, a heartthrob of a man, is quite a shock.
Are you alright?
Adam that Chandler remained speechless, Adam nudged him.
"It's nothing, what could possibly be wrong?"
Chandler forced a smile and said self-deprecatingly, "Actually, there's nothing wrong with group sex, none of us are at a disadvantage..."
"Stop!"
Adam frowned and said, "I can't accept this kind of sport! Chandler, I remember telling you guys that although I advocate dating without being in a relationship, I have a rule for my friends: I will never touch my friends' girlfriends, or even their ex-girlfriends."
"I know, I was just joking."
Seeing Adam's serious tone, Chandler also dropped his frivolous and joking attitude.
"This is also for the sake of our friendship."
Adam patted Chandler on the shoulder. "Can you imagine that when you're being intimate with someone, countless tiny little friends pop up all over her body and say, 'Hey, I was here before you...'"
"Eek~"
Upon hearing this, Chandler shuddered uncomfortably and exclaimed, "Alright, alright, I really understand, please don't say any more."
"Hehe."
Adam laughed and said, "I won't go over there. Could you call Caroline over for me?"
Caroline arrived shortly after Chandler left.
Adam recounted the story, Caroline was also amazed.
"Want one?"
Caroline took out a pack of women's cigarettes from her pocket. Seeing Adam wave his hand in refusal, she skillfully picked up a cigarette with her right hand, lit it, and took a deep drag.
Smoking is bad.
Adam advised, "Are you still worried about work?"
Caroline nodded and then shook her head, took a deep drag, and slowly exhaled a smoke ring that filled the space between them before saying meaningfully, "Adam, do you believe in God?"
"I don't believe it. I am a science supremacist and believe in the power of science and technology."
Adam laughed.
"I don't believe it either."
Caroline nodded. "But even in this day and age, there are still many people who believe in the mysterious power of God or even the devil, and they will do a lot of crazy things because of it, even hurting others. Don't you think these people are stupid, bad and hopeless?"
"What happened? Why are you suddenly bringing this up?"
Adam instinctively sensed something was wrong and looked at Caroline, who was shrouded in smoke.
"Nothing."
Caroline took a drag on her cigarette, exhaled another smoke ring, and shook her head, saying, "I've just heard some things recently and have some feelings about them. I often think that if these people really believe in God, instead of having the time and energy to do those crazy things, they should use their money to truly practice the truth, goodness, and beauty that God exhorts people to. Then there would be far fewer things like Mr. Tucker's."
"You're still thinking about Mr. Tucker, huh?"
Adam suddenly realized, and unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief, feeling at ease. "Just do your best, don't be too hard on yourself."
Yes, you're right.
Caroline suddenly smiled, "Just do your best."
Suddenly, a gasp came from the restaurant.
"It's Chandler!"
Adam's hearing was far superior to that of ordinary people. He recognized the voice as coming from Chandler, his expression changed immediately, and he ran towards that direction.
Caroline also stubbed out her cigarette and followed suit.
"Please call an ambulance."
Chandler shouted.
Adam pushed through the crowd and was met with a shocking sight: the alluring and captivating Italy beauty, Aurora, was kneeling on the ground with a gleaming fork stuck in her neck...
