Wine Doesn't Make You Drunk; You Make Yourself Drunk
All morning.
Adam and Juno were both dissecting and studying biological structures, and they bickered from time to time.
What was originally a somewhat bloody scene, under the halo of practicing medical and life-saving techniques, actually appeared somewhat heartwarming.
Adam, who had never killed a chicken before, was immediately presented with such a graphic and disturbing scene, yet he didn't feel uncomfortable at all.
Zhou Shuren said, "Reading requires one or two close friends to make progress!"
This is absolutely true!
Without Juno and Karen, even if Adam had the financial means to do this, he would probably only have thought about it briefly before forgetting about it.
For someone to go deep into the mountains and forests to hunt, dissect, and practice surgical techniques, they must be crazy.
It was thanks to Juno's positive response that we have the situation we have today.
What you learn from books is never enough; you must put it into practice to truly understand.
Only after actually performing an autopsy did I realize the feeling of holding a scalpel and cutting through animal tissue—a feeling that cannot be described in words.
"Hmm~"
Time passed by unnoticed. Suddenly, Adam wrinkled his nose, took a deep sniff, and exclaimed, "It smells so good!"
"Karen must be roasting venison."
Juno sniffed it too and smiled, "Let's stop here for the morning, we're going out to help."
"Good."
Adam nodded, and Juno helped each other remove their surgical gowns and walked out of the miniature Operating Room.
Karen had already set up the grill and all the ingredients, and pieces of tender venison were being grilled on the grill, wafting out an enticing aroma of roasted meat.
"Is there anything I can help you with?"
Adam laughed.
"Need not."
Karen shook her head.
"I'll clear the table. Go get the red wine and glasses."
Juno took the initiative and gave orders without hesitation.
Of the three, she is the core, connecting the other two.
Adam had no objection and went in to take it.
Once everything was ready, Juno took the plate of roasted venison from Karen and placed it on the table.
Adam stood up and poured half a glass of the decanted red wine into each person's stemmed glass.
"This isn't home, so just a little bit is fine. It's not safe to get drunk."
"And you're the one who knows that safety comes first?"
Juno rolled her eyes. "Do you know how much Karen and I can drink? Have some more."
"You guys have a high alcohol tolerance?"
Adam had a sudden thought.
"Anyway, you're better than me."
Juno laughed and said, "That's about enough for you."
Adam smiled wryly, unconsciously recalling the time he blacked out while drinking. As he refilled Juno and Karen's glasses, he pondered whether to ask what had happened that night.
"That's enough! It's almost full!"
Juno prompted, "What are you thinking about?"
Adam quickly lifted the bottle, stopped pouring, and shook his head. "It's nothing."
Well, who knows what happened back then? Although I'm now recognized as friends by the system by Juno and Karen, even if I asked, there probably wouldn't be any problem. But it's better to be a little oblivious when necessary.
Juno raised her glass, tapped it with her fork, and toasted, "Today, we are able to gather here, playing hunting games and enjoying delicious food and wine. The first person we want to thank is our tycoon Adam. You have given us a taste of the leisure and entertainment of high society. Thank you Adam, cheers!"
Cheers!
Adam smiled, clinked glasses with Juno and Karen, and took a sip.
"The second person I want to thank is Karen for making such delicious barbecue. Thank Karen, cheers!"
Juno raised her glass for the second time.
Cheers!
Karen smiled sweetly.
"The third person I want to thank is fate. It was fate that brought us together. Thank you, fate, cheers!"
Juno raised his glass for the third time.
Cheers!
Adam clinked glasses again and joked, "The fourth person I want to thank is Juno; she decides whether we can eat or not."
"Let's eat."
Juno put down her wine glass, took a knife in one hand and a fork in the other, cut a small piece of venison, and put it in her mouth.
"Hmm~"
Adam followed closely behind.
"Mmm~ Mmm~"
Karen looked at Juno with a smile and let out a smug hum.
The venison has a texture similar to beef, but it's much more tender. Plus, it's freshly killed and served immediately, and Karen's cooking skills are truly superb. All these factors combined make it taste absolutely amazing.
"This must be taken back for Monica and Chandler to try."
Adam ate while exclaiming in amazement.
"There's a freezer, so you can take it home and eat it for a long time."
Juno, much more refined, took a bite, sipped his red wine, swirled his wine glass, and said with a smile, "On the day we leave, we'll hunt another one, process it a bit, and you can drive it back directly, so they can eat the freshest venison."
"Great idea!"
Adam praised, "Let Monica cook it then. She's a master chef, so it'll surely be a unique flavor."
After eating several pieces, Adam slowed down and, imitating Juno, swirled his wine glass, watching the blood-red wine swirl in it, his eyes somewhat dazed as he looked at the two beauties beside him.
This is life!
"Karen, is it going to rain tomorrow?"
Juno took a sip of red wine and suddenly asked.
Adam glanced over instinctively, nearly spitting out the red wine in his mouth.
Karen touched her conscience, weighed it for a moment, and hesitated before saying, "There will be showers tomorrow, probably around noon."
Looks like we'll have to get up early tomorrow.
Juno looked at Adam with a smile, her eyes full of amusement.
"Mmm, mmm, mmm!"
Adam nodded repeatedly, swallowed the wine in his mouth, and then quickly took a big gulp of red wine to calm his nerves.
Although I knew it beforehand, I was still shocked when I actually saw Karen use it.
Karen's move was truly brilliant; she's wasted her talent not being a weather forecaster.
Adam glanced again at Juno, who was clearly teasing him, and his lips twitched.
In the morning, Juno jokingly offered to help him Karen, because he couldn't hide his feelings for Karen from her.
Seeing how close the two of them were, Adam naturally refused.
But there was also a glimmer of hope.
I thought if you persuaded me a few more times and were more sincere, I might give in.
Unfortunately, after waiting and waiting, Juno simply stopped talking.
This disappointed Adam.
He secretly regretted missing a great opportunity; perhaps Juno really wanted to match him up with Karen?
So I couldn't help but glance at her.
But what she got in return was Juno's loud laughter.
Adam then realized that he had been tricked by Juno.
But even at the end, he still couldn't figure out Juno's thoughts—was it unintentional teasing or a deliberate warning?
Those who play mind games have dirty minds!
Even with his background in psychology, he was no match for the gifted Juno.
Now that Juno is openly teasing him again, no matter how tempted he is, he's decided he'd rather die than fall for it.
And I'm incredibly glad I firmly refused Juno's idea to make him soup, otherwise I really wouldn't have been able to handle it.
