Stock God's Demeanor
Night falls.
Ring ring.
Adam was watching a videotape when the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Adam, let me ask you a question."
Monica's excited voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Uh-huh."
Adam gestured for her to speak.
Do you buy stocks?
Monica asked repeatedly, "Which one did you buy? How's the price going? How much money did you make?"
"Slow down, slow down."
Adam held the phone away from his ear for a moment, waiting for the sound on the other end to subside a bit, before complaining, "Why are you trading stocks again?"
What's so difficult about investing in stocks?
Monica dismissed it, saying, "It's just buying low and selling high, a bear market or a bull market. I think the momentum is pretty good lately, everyone says it's a bull market."
"Hehe."
Adam couldn't help but laugh.
This sounds so familiar.
For a time in his previous life, Adam was surrounded by the sounds of a bull market, with one stock hitting its daily limit after another. This made Adam, who had never played the stock market before, feel itchy to open an account and make a fortune.
However, he didn't have an account at the time, and he found opening an account too troublesome, so he remained hesitant to take action.
Every day I hear about people like Adam who have no stock trading experience entering the market, buying stocks blindly and making huge profits.
Adam looked at candlestick charts and studied stock market rules, and finally couldn't resist taking action.
And that was the end of it.
Because the news of stocks hitting their daily limit disappeared overnight, replaced by reports of people being trapped in their investments, resulting in a significant reduction in the amount of money invested.
The newlywed, on the verge of tears, only then realized the saying "harvesting leeks" (a Chinese idiom for exploiting others).
The saying "Investing in the stock market is risky, so be cautious" is not just an empty phrase; it reflects the hardships and struggles involved.
Adam was overjoyed.
If he hadn't been lazy and found opening an account troublesome, and had actually been persuaded to enter the market, a single limit down would have wiped out several months of his hard work. If he were trapped and the market kept falling, he would have worked hard for a whole year and been back to square one.
From then on, he stopped paying attention to the stock market.
After transmigrating, if it weren't for the fact that making money was too easy and fast, and that he knew that holding stocks of high-tech companies like Apple and Google for the long term would definitely make him a fortune, he would never have put most of his money into stocks.
Even so, just to be on the safe side, he kept over a million in savings for emergencies.
He wouldn't touch high-risk investments like leverage or futures, no matter how much the securities managers raved about them.
Those are all dedicated elevators for going up to the rooftop.
"I buy Apple, Google, Amazon..."
Adam listed the types of stocks he owned.
If his friends are bold and patient, he doesn't mind helping them get rich together.
But clearly, not everyone is patient enough.
"These stocks?"
Monica had obviously done some 'study' as well, and frowned as soon as she heard it, saying, "The growth rate is too slow, not even 10% per day. Buying these stocks is too boring, you can't make big money from them."
What do you want to buy?
Adam's lips twitched.
10% a day?
If you have tens of millions of dollars in stocks, a 10% return in a day is 1 million. What does it mean to earn 1 million in a day?
That's the level of billionaires and multi-billionaires.
Newly minted leeks are indeed filled with a romanticized notion of getting rich overnight.
Adam understood this deeply.
"MEG!"
Monica said confidently.
"What company's stock is this?"
Adam asked, puzzled.
"I don't know either."
Monica said smugly, "But didn't you notice that the name of this stock sounds a lot like my name?"
"So?"
Adam remained silent.
"So, of course I'll buy her."
Monica said confidently, "I believe she will definitely bring me good luck."
"Then why are you asking me?"
Adam retorted, "You're obviously much more experienced than I am."
"Let's discuss it."
Monica retorted, "Being well-informed is also a crucial factor in stock trading."
"I don't trade stocks."
Adam laughed and said, "I only invest in stocks."
"Whatever."
Monica wasn't interested in listening and instead said indirectly, "I feel great right now. This is what I've always been pursuing, Adam. Do you support me?"
"Hehe."
Adam smiled noncommittally.
"..."
Monica paused for a moment, then regained her confidence. "The only regret now is that I have too little capital. Even if it increases by 10% every day, I will only earn $12.70, which is not commensurate with my luck at all. So, could you lend me some money? I will pay you back after I make a lot of money, with interest calculated as usual."
"Remember the admonition meeting in Las Vegas?"
Adam chuckled at the comment and kindly reminded him, "Would you like to have another round?"
"How can these be the same?"
Monica exclaimed, "I was wrong that time, it was gambling, but this time I'm making an investment, this is my job from now on!"
"Holding it for the long term is called investing."
Adam corrected him, "Short-term trading is gambling, and it's even worse than gambling in Las Vegas. What's worse is that in Las Vegas, you can roll the dice and bet on your own luck, but in stock trading, you're surrounded and manipulated by a lot of false information, and you can be wiped out in one fell swoop."
"If you don't want to lend it, then don't. Why scare me like this?"
Monica first felt guilty, then said aggrievedly, "I won't do this. Do you really want me to go to that lousy restaurant, where I have to dance and wear a costume? I don't want to wear a fake killer that can't even be burned by fire."
"Even the real culprit can't be burned."
Adam couldn't help but remind him.
Snap!
The call was disconnected.
Adam got up and went to the window, where he saw Monica going crazy across the street.
He just smiled and ignored her.
The more upset she is now about not being able to borrow money and how much money she lost, the more grateful she will be later for not borrowing money this time.
And this period of time will not be long.
The next day.
After class, Adam deliberately didn't go to the library, but went to 520 Apartment instead.
"I need to buy five shares of SGJ, right now! Hurry, time is money, friend! Thanks!"
Monica, holding the phone, exclaimed excitedly, "Wow!"
"Ha! Adam, you're here."
Seeing Adam enter, Monica smiled smugly and said, "I made $17 before breakfast, isn't that amazing? I really am a stock market genius!"
"Didn't you buy MEG?"
Adam asked curiously.
"That's all in the past."
Monica spouted nonsense with a straight face. "She did make money for me, but I dumped her. My motto now is: retreat before you get weak!"
"This is really suitable as your motto."
Adam's lips twitched slightly. "Men would never think that way."
"..."
Monica understood the implication and couldn't help but roll her eyes.
Her time is precious right now, and she has no interest in anything other than risqué jokes or even explicit content.
Then Adam heard Monica making phone calls, shouting things like "money makes money" and "don't force me to kick your Wall Street ass."
Adam seemed to see the Stock God's Demeanor who could make hundreds of thousands in minutes.
until.
"No!!!"
Monica's screams echoed throughout the entire building.
