Chief Best Man
1998.
Since the end of the Amazing Amy incident, time seems to have been fast-forwarded.
In the blink of an eye.
More than three years have passed.
Adam is facing graduation from medical school.
Looking back on the past three years, what Adam is most moved about is that he became Chandler's best man and will soon stand beside the groom Chandler on the altar of the church, handing him the wedding ring at the appropriate time.
That's right!
The bride was still Monica.
Even with Adam, that flirtatious butterfly, stirring up a storm strong enough, the thread of fate that bound the two together tightly still brought them together.
Of the three— Ross, Joey, and Adam— Chandler unhesitatingly chose Adam as his best man.
This initially displeased Ross and Joey.
But when Chandler recounted all the little things Adam had done for him over the years, everyone was stunned.
You wouldn't believe it until you did the math, and the results were shocking.
Ross and Joey put aside their dissatisfaction and sincerely admired him.
Adam felt a little strange, especially when he thought about what Nora's expression would be when he stood next to Chandler on their wedding day, sitting in the audience.
Of course, he readily agreed.
Being the best man is definitely an honor, the greatest recognition for the groom, and no one would refuse it.
If you ask Chandler about Kathy now, he'll likely be momentarily speechless, and might even ask in return, "Who is Kathy?"
The woman who had once captivated him to the point of almost hurting the Joey brothers' relationship has, with Adam's help, overcome this ordeal ahead of time.
Donating money to impoverished girls at the club only served as a delaying tactic; what truly changed Chandler's mindset was when Adam took him to see Kathy's small theater.
When Chandler saw Kathy and a handsome male actor on stage, getting so into something that was almost R-rated, he was completely taken aback.
For Joey, who is also an actress and can also engage in casual flings with other actresses, it's not a problem.
But for Chandler, who wasn't a professional, watching his favorite woman and other handsome men do this in public was simply unacceptable.
When asked indirectly for Joey opinion on the matter, Joey offered his self-deceptive explanation. "The more invested you are on stage, the less likely you are to be together in real life."
Adam scoffed at this.
How many actors have fallen in love while filming, and even turned their on-screen romances into real ones?
Chandler didn't quite believe Joey's explanation either, and his feelings for Kathy immediately diminished.
And as it turned out, Joey was indeed a latecomer to acting, with only a superficial understanding of the craft. Kathy didn't end up with Chandler, but instead had an affair with her on-screen boyfriend.
This time, although Joey was somewhat injured, it was completely different from the situation in the original timeline where Chandler injured him, and he quickly forgot about it.
Because Joey wasn't exactly innocent either; while dating Kathy, he also hooked up with other women.
It's really hard to say who cheated on whom.
Chandler and Monica's Marriage Maniac begins with Ross's second wedding.
The bride was Emily, who had an aristocratic air and Britain accent that captivated United States. Their relationship was thanks to Rachel, and soon Emily was dragged into a mess by the Marriage Maniac Ross.
Ross, the "Marriage Maniac," accepted Rose's marriage proposal, arguing that if the feeling was right, what else would they do but get married?
The couple's wedding was held in Emily's hometown of London, and everyone flew there.
Then Rachel, true to form, is a match made in heaven with Ross. As always, she stirs things up again, going to great lengths to overcome all obstacles in order to tell Ross about her sudden feelings...
As for whether telling her meant he wanted to get back together with Ross?
The funny thing is, she really didn't have that idea.
When a feeling arises, how can you not express it? We have to be responsible for our own hearts.
Um...
It has a ridiculous feel to it, like you've already taken your pants off, and this is what you're showing me.
Fortunately, when she arrived, she saw the bride and groom embracing tenderly, and she managed to hold back at the last moment.
But she held back, and Ross started causing trouble again.
During the wedding ceremony, when everyone said "I do," Ross called out Rachel's name to his bride Emily...
One can imagine the awkward situation at the time.
In a fantasy world, this would be comparable to the disgrace of a broken engagement story.
However, the bride Emily neither left on the spot nor shouted the slogan "Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river, never underestimate a poor young woman." She just watched with a dark face Ross, who was forcing a smile, went through the process again, and then accompanied him to complete the wedding ceremony.
This is definitely true love.
Of course, Ross can forget about the wedding night.
After the wedding ceremony, the bride Emily, ran away.
Meanwhile, Chandler and Monica, who had already secretly hooked up, were eager to find a room, but each time their attempts were thwarted. Thinking that the new room was already furnished and shouldn't be wasted, they almost consummated their relationship in the new room.
Then, Ross, unable to find his bride, returned and said he would wait for her in the bridal chamber.
Others haven't figured it out yet, so how could Adam not?
He simply said he was taking Max out to play and wouldn't be back that night, giving the room to the two who had almost suffocated after wandering around for so long.
After the wedding, Chandler and Monica kept their relationship a secret for a whole year.
Firstly, they hadn't figured out how to tell everyone.
Secondly, secret relationships are so exciting...
In this life, with Adam's help in training Chandler for over a year, even if Chandler doesn't have an Indestructible Kidney like Adam, his physical abilities are still far superior to those in the original timeline.
Add to that Monica's custom-made skills, Chandler's own talent, and the thrill of their secret relationship, and if this were set in a martial arts world, their Flirting Sword Burning Desire Palm would instantly become masterful.
This situation, of course, cannot be kept secret forever.
In fact, if it weren't for the unexpected nature of the situation, everyone would have known about the two of them long ago.
A year later, Ross was the last to find out.
Then Chandler and Monica finally went public with their relationship and received everyone's blessings.
Then another year passed.
After divorcing his ex-wife Emily, Ross, the Marriage Maniac, got drunk and had a whirlwind marriage with Rachel, only to divorce her just as quickly, thus cementing his nickname as the Marriage Maniac, or rather, the Divorce Maniac.
Chandler finally proposed.
This time, with Adam watching over him, Chandler naturally wouldn't be so foolish as to play any tricks like praising someone before criticizing them, which could easily backfire. He simply proposed honestly.
Monica, who had a special feeling about marriage, naturally agreed without hesitation and immediately devoted herself to the wedding preparations with two hundred times the energy.
In recent years, Chandler has been doing very well in the advertising industry, earning a substantial income and accumulating considerable savings. Even if Monica's parents spend all of her wedding money, Chandler can still give Monica a perfect A-class wedding.
