Background / History

The Blood Sea Master was born in the Netherworld at the beginning of the current epoch, after the Empress of Fengdu but before any beings had died in the mortal world. She and the Empress joined forces to quell the Netherworld’s initial chaos and establish its normal operation. The two remained sisters and close companions for roughly a thousand years. 175

The Netherworld’s rules restricted the Blood Sea Master from birth. Although she originated from the immensely powerful Blood Sea, she had to cultivate gradually, beginning from the Vein Opening Realm. Her foundation eventually became exceptionally strong, surpassing even Shui Qianqiu’s at the same realm through talent rather than merely accumulated resources. 245

As the Shifting Seas grew stronger, the Blood Sea Master sought to expand the Netherworld and convert living beings into Netherworld beings. She believed this could allow her to survive the coming calamity, but the expansion disrupted the boundary between the mortal world and the Netherworld. The Empress of Fengdu opposed her actions because they threatened the existence of the Netherworld and the future cycle of reincarnation. 173 174

The Empress asked Chen Mo to suppress her. Chen Mo opened his Dual Arms Spirit Depths, overwhelmed the Blood Sea Master, and refined her power inside the Heaven and Earth Furnace. After witnessing the difference in their strength, she accepted that he could defeat her. The Empress then took responsibility for teaching her and allowed Chen Mo to continue drawing limited nourishment from the Blood Sea. 175

Later, the Blood Sea Master joined the human side as an ally. The Ancestral Spirit accepted her into the Azure Profound Realm, recognizing that she could contribute to humanity’s survival despite being non-human. 188

Appearance

The Blood Sea Master resembles the Empress of Fengdu almost exactly, sharing her eyes, facial features, long red dress, and red shoes. Unlike the Empress’s composure, the Blood Sea Master displays stronger emotions and a more openly arrogant temperament. 175

She is proud, emotionally expressive, and initially unwilling to accept that her plans are harming others. At the same time, she can recognize strength and honor an agreement once convinced. After Chen Mo suppresses her, she accepts his power rather than continuing a futile struggle. 175

Her long experience makes her knowledgeable about secret realms and ancient treasures. She also acts cautiously in dangerous areas, using protective treasures and warning Chen Mo about the risks of Ruin exploration. 246 248

Conflict with the Empress of Fengdu

Her attempt to expand the Netherworld and transform mortal beings brings her into conflict with the Empress of Fengdu. The Empress recruits Chen Mo to suppress her, resulting in Chen Mo’s overwhelming victory and the Blood Sea Master’s temporary confinement. 173 175

Alliance with Humanity
