Shade uncovered the Dragon Devouring Order’s dragon-beast rituals and joined the battle when the Order and Bloodkin attacked Moon Bay. The city survived, but a church relic was stolen, and Shade left the Order’s financial trail for his contacts to investigate.

• Shade reunited with Anqi Illustrious, learned she held a secret Dragon-Tongue Spellcraft for him, and searched with her for the Angel’s Right Arm.
• Shade helped the Church defeat the Dragon Devouring Order at Erwin Village, where Iluna discovered its dragon-beast hatchery and Shade found a wounded cultist.
• Shade and Illustrious Miss opened an elven ruin, fought the Light Chaser, and recovered the Angel’s Right Arm from the Angel statue.
• Shade consulted the Angel at Lake of Cherub, learned the sword could worsen Latt Augustus’s condition, and agreed to guide him toward understanding his heart.
• Shade passed all twenty-eight exams, then returned to Moon Bay as Vampire Beasts, Bloodkin, and dragons attacked the city.
• Shade and the Witches broke the Light Chaser’s illusion barrier and fought their way to the port, where Iluna sensed deliberate disorder in the Church’s command.
• Shade shattered the sacrificial ground’s shield, dragged the Dragon Devouring Demon into the open, and drove an ancient Bone Dragon back through a Bronze Door.
• Shade and his allies learned that the Dawn Church had been robbed during the attack, then questioned Baron Chandler, who revealed how the Order moved people, supplies, and money through Moon Bay Port and its banks.

Shade and his allies pursued the Dragon Devouring Order’s stolen relics, uncovered an ancient Demon in the desert, and gathered clues tied to the Chosen One. In Moon Bay, Shade investigated threatening letters and a string of fatal heart attacks, ending with Marquis Morrison surviving surgery with a horse’s heart.

• Mr. Albert alerted Shade to suspicious heart attack deaths and a spontaneous combustion at the Spider Inn, while Miss Galina confirmed that two relics had been stolen from the Moon Bay Dawn Church.
• Shade and his companions discussed the Dragon Devouring Order’s plans, and Mia drew Maria Thorn's Treasure Map from the gods’ Gift Box.
• Shade traveled to the desert with Little Mia, Ms. Meister, and Ms. Knight, and they found an ancient mausoleum containing a Demon and a stone knight’s statue.
• Shade defeated the Demon with Little Mia’s help, and the knight’s departing soul passed him the knowledge of Earth Power All Things.
• Little Mia gained Sun's Blessing in the desert, while Shade and his companions recovered the Compass Fragment and learned where to search for the next one.
• Shade returned to Moon Bay, investigated the stolen dragon scales and the threatening letters, and learned that a fate relic might be targeting Mrs. Jude and others.
• Luvia and Miss Belinder divined an omen of a blood-drinking monster, while Vanessa gave Shade an earth symbol and Shade acquired a Flawless Moonstone for the Chosen One’s symbolic objects.
• Shade, Mr. Bernhardt, and Mr. Albert confronted Marquis Morrison about the threatening letters, raced him at the horse farm, and saved him from a heart attack by replacing his dead heart with a horse’s heart.

Shade investigated the fate relic Richard’s Notes, won allies in Moon Bay, and uncovered clues about the Dragon Devouring Demon and the coming dangerous sunlight. As preparations continued, Emilia received the Ocarina of Time and awakened a new light-based talent.

• Shade and his companions investigated Marquis Morrison’s threatening letter, and Morrison gave Shade the Noble Crimson relic in exchange for their help.
• Shade entered the Parsifal Club’s Rhodes Card tournament, defeated Captain Rudolf in the final, and learned that Rudolf had received a warning about a coming agent of justice.
• Shade and his companions identified Richard’s Notes as the relic behind the threats, then drew out its phantom and heard Richard recount his history with Madeline and the Mermaid.
• Shade mastered the Heart Curse, resolved the danger around Mrs. Jude and Red Heart Orphanage, and later made a bargain with Desire for information about the Dragon Devouring Demon.
• Shade and his allies gathered Bloodkin and other support for Moon Bay, while Miss Rice shared a painting of the swordsman who had attacked a Bloodkin.
• Shade reunited with Megan and Audrey, and the group prepared for the Moon Bay operation as an unnatural brightness spread outside and threatened people.
• Shade learned of the Star Sword Stone, a coming period of dangerous sunlight centered on Moon Bay, and a whetstone and whistle that could aid the fight against the dragon.
• Emilia borrowed the Ocarina of Time, awakened the Spirit Rune Enlightenment—Light of Self, and Shade discovered that the sword could manipulate the flow of time.

Shade fought the crisis in Moon Bay, then traveled to the past to find the Oasis Heart and rescue Liya Sandel. After Ms. Sandel sacrificed herself to hold the worm’s seal, Shade and Ms. Meister tried to change her fate through the Mermaid Princess’s story, but each telling ended with her becoming Foam.

• Shade entered Moon Bay’s Edge of Life and Death with Sister Devlin and the others, defeating the Undead Bride, Light Chaser, and a dragon transformed by Dangerous Radiance.
• Shade entrusted the Angel’s bone to Priest Augustus, who contained it, then Shade used the Time Key to begin his 4260 trial in the desert.
• Shade reunited with Grandma Sianode, Ms. Sandel, Ms. Knight, and Ms. Meister, and the group searched the desert for the Oasis Heart and the Compass Fragment.
• Shade and his companions entered the dead Desert Worm, retrieved the final Compass Fragment, and fled as its seal began to reactivate.
• Ms. Sandel used Earth Power All Things to become a stone statue and hold the closing door, allowing Shade and the others to escape with the Compass.
• Grandma Sianode used the Compass to locate the Oasis Heart, while Ms. Meister proposed using an illusory realm to bring Ms. Sandel back.
• Shade narrated the Mermaid Princess’s tale thirteen times, but Ms. Sandel still rejected the dagger, turned into Foam at sunrise, and left Shade questioning whether he was resisting Destiny and an Ancient God.
