Shade journeyed through Gravestone Wasteland, freed the Corpse Tree’s spirit, and helped Sister Belen reclaim the First Fire before returning to his duties in Tobesk. As he investigated new threats and deepened his ties with Sister Devlin and Claire Reinhart, he attended a diplomatic banquet where the Delarion and Kasonlik representatives met amicably.

• Shade found Ellie injured and underweight, learned that a Demon had driven her from her Ice and Snow Castle, and agreed to help track it after she recovered.
• Shade traveled to Gravestone Wasteland, freed the Hound’s soul from the Corpse Tree, and sealed the weakened tree with the Witches’ help.
• Shade and the Witches explored the giant pyramid, defeated its guardian, and helped Sister Belen reclaim the First Fire from the Giant King.
• The Giant King told Shade what was needed to escape the wasteland and opened a Secret Passage after learning what had become of the Pus of Man.
• Shade returned to Tobesk, reconciled with Sister Devlin, and learned from Priest Augustus that the Grave King’s Gold Bracelet was a projection of the Ancient God of Death’s authority.

After the Infinite Snake incident, Shade and Emilia set out with their allies to find the Demon, following clues tied to the Serpent’s Shedding and Snow Mountain. A supernatural blizzard separates Shade from his companions, and he enters the Ice and Snow Castle with Delia A. Sabelle, passing its trials as they approach the Demon’s floor.

• At the banquet, Shade investigated Baron Jensen’s unexplained apparent suicide and followed Countess Waldeck, whose black revolver transformed into the Infinite Snake.
• Shade, Emilia, Claire Reinhart, and the Church’s Ring Arcanists fought the Infinite Snake until Emilia used Return to Origin to reduce it to a revolver and destroy it.
• Shade learned that Emilia’s Serpent’s Shedding foretold an unexpected role in another story, while Luvia explained that the Calamity of Fate arose from tangled Destiny creating impossibilities.
• Shade and Emilia prepared to hunt the Demon, gathering help and supplies from the Church, the Fatu People, and their companions before traveling toward Snow Mountain’s eastern foothills.
• A supernatural blizzard separated Shade from his companions and left him in the Ice and Snow Castle, where the Head Maid explained that a Demon was seeking its master’s secret treasure.
• Shade thawed Delia A. Sabelle from an ice sculpture and accompanied her through the castle, helping her confront her self-doubt in a dream and recover fragments of her memories.
• Shade and Miss Sabelle passed the second-floor dance trial by evading attacking Ice Sculptures, then found a pocket watch and learned that the Demon occupied a corridor on the Fourth Floor.
• The Head Maid began the third-floor trial, requiring Shade and Miss Sabelle to find three hidden badges before an ice hourglass ran out.

Shade and his allies defeated the Demon at Ice and Snow Castle, then returned to Fatumonst Island as Claire confronted her hurt over the secrets kept from her. While Claire began her Crown of Glory Trial, Shade investigated strange knocking at the Reinharts’ neighboring house and traced it to a dead man who had become a Corpse Ghoul.

• Shade, Claire, and Miss Sabelle passed the Ice and Snow Castle’s trials, reunited with Emilia and Ellie, and escaped the approaching Demon with help from the gathered Ring Arcanists.
• Shade and his allies destroyed the Demon Swords and defeated the Demon, but it escaped toward the Great Ice Cap as Whisper Elements spread across the battlefield.
• After returning to Kael-Todd Town, Shade and the others revealed his connections to Claire, while Adele Isabella learned his identity as the God Summoner and chose to keep what she knew secret.
• Shade learned that Stella had become a Protagonist Candidate, then returned to Fatumonst Island and found Claire playing her flute alone on a snowy peak.
• Claire told Shade she was hurt by the others’ secrecy, forgave him, and asked him to stay by her side until he left the island.
• As Claire set out alone for her Crown of Glory Trial, Shade and Miss Larson investigated knocking at the abandoned house beside the Reinharts’ home and discovered it was linked to Miranda Otto’s missing husband.
• Shade and Miss Larson followed cold traces into the Snow Mountain, pursued a Corpse Ghoul, and used Guiding Death to learn that it had once been an Ice Sculpture and had died more than fifty years earlier.

Shade helped Ralph reunite with Miranda, explored Chloe’s Ice and Snow Castle, and confronted Father over The Puppeteer’s Script. He then joined Sister Belen’s group in the Gravestone Wasteland, where they fought through dangers on the way to the Temple.

• Shade and Stella Larson purified the Corpse Ghoul, but Shade found its body too damaged to revive.
• Shade brought Ralph to Miranda Otto, and the couple reunited before Ralph departed by boat toward the Star Sea.
• Shade met Claire Reinhart at Snow Mountain Hall, then visited Chloe’s castle and learned about Ellie’s long freezing and the mountain’s connection to fate.
• Shade followed disturbances beneath the mountain, found a Relic, and fought Father, who escaped into The Puppeteer’s Script.
• Shade learned that the Ring of the Ice Heart Walker had been taken by a Fatu priest, then gave the ring to Little Mia after Miss Larson declined it.
• Shade traveled to the Gravestone Wasteland, reunited with Sister Belen’s group, and healed the injuries caused by the Swollen Lady.
• Shade and the others found the Eternal Slumber Scripture, shared three Angel Feathers, and used Sister Belen’s Dark Moon Grace to recover their strength.
