Shade and Daniste restored the Moon Tower, lifted Helena Carter’s curse, and returned with a dormant Moon Egg as war spread between the duchies. Shade later traveled to Arcadia City to pursue Big Mouth Sparrow and began a bargain to acquire the Blue Ink Library.

• Shade and Daniste investigated the ruined Moon Tower, discovered the remains of workers who had been hired to dig, and found no clear clues about what they sought.
• Shade restored the tower with the Philosopher’s Stone and Breath of Time, then entered a shared dream with Daniste and subdued the Curse-Eroded Great Tree containing Helena Carter’s soul.
• Shade helped Helena’s soul awaken and absorbed most of the curse, while Daniste’s ritual produced an egg containing Helena and restored her body.
• Shade and Daniste returned home with the Moon Egg, and Shade learned that the Tree Father had delayed the opening of the Time Key by a month.
• Shade investigated several cases, helped save the Great Witch of Chaos with Star Dew, and shared a romantic reunion with Margaret before Sylvia announced that war had begun.

Shade met Wei Ge Astley while seeking books in Arcadia City, then entered a dangerous factory on a mission to help the One-armed Prince bring forth new life. The arc left Shade and three Witches fighting a living laboratory as they sought to modify the factory’s Life Furnaces.

• Shade found Wei Ge Astley, the Great Witch of Chaos, at Candlekeep Library and stabilized her with his blood after she attacked him.
• Wei Ge explained her connection to the Emerald Record and commissioned Shade to investigate outsiders contacting the Emerald Alchemy Association, while he sought books and investigated Arcadia City.
• Winnie explained the Emerald Record’s power, and Shade entered the Time Corridor, where the Father of Infinite Tree assigned him to assist the One-armed Prince at the Foul Blood Factory.
• Shade escaped an operating table and met Melody Gustav, Gina Rosa, and Linor Bladewei, who explained the factory’s dangers and their plan to complete more Life Furnaces.
• Shade joined the Witches’ exploration, helped them gather glowing blood and defeat creatures, and crossed a scorching Blood River using his chains after Gina ran out of strength.
• The group reached a Life Furnace and learned it required twelve specific Flesh Organs and Blood Essence of All Things, while Madam Gustav recorded ways to alleviate Wei Ge’s illness.
• After the Witches planned how to modify the furnace, a blood-colored tentacle emerged from Madam Gustav’s eye, and Shade removed it and repaired her eye.
• Shade and Gina entered a laboratory that revealed itself as a living Flesh monster, and Shade transformed into a Moonlight Dragon to break through its flesh.

Shade pursued manuscripts, Active Metal, and a cure for Wei Ge while uncovering a strange life-fire threat in Arcadia City. At a charity banquet, his search for missing Bloodkin erupted into a battle with the Giant God Soldier before Church Arcanists sealed the lake.

• Shade destroyed the Mutated Flesh in the past, returned to the present, and began recovering while Daniste explained the scarcity of Active Metal.
• Shade visited Wei Ge, gave her an ancient treatment plan, and obtained the original manuscript of Wuthering Heights while arranging to seek the remaining books and supplies.
• Shade helped Wei Ge’s follower Miss Lorraine by using Blood Seed Parasitism to devour the White Area parasitizing her body.
• Wei Ge told the Witches’ Council that a travel writer had improved her health, and Galina later visited Shade and learned that he had given Wei Ge his blood.
• Shade met inventor Havel Finch and discovered that mechanical creations were undergoing dangerous animations linked to Life Fire Seeds.
• Shade met Mr. Bernhardt, discussed missing Bloodkin and a Poem Chapter Fragment, then attended the charity banquet with Wei Ge, where Baron Ramsay refused to sell him the Mark I Steam Engine manuscript.
• Shade and Mr. Bernhardt followed Lady Connaught after Bernhardt detected Advanced Bloodkin blood on her, and Shade fought Alistair Wispski and his allies over the lake before rescuing Bernhardt.

Shade investigated the Blood Spirit School and the Saint Alliance while a Creation Church disaster spread animated machines and Active Corpses through Arcadia. He created a Fire Seed Source, discovered the Emerald Record’s power within Wei Ge, and learned that The Church had sent Iluna to the region.

• Shade linked the Blood Spirit School to the Giant God Soldier and learned new blood Thaumaturgies from Daniste as the Mechanical Plague began in Arcadia City.
• Shade and Wei Ge defeated Saint Alliance Arcanists and their Holy Mother at Grey Rock Pass, then investigated the group’s container and its ties to divine descent vessels.
• Shade and the Witches contained the contagious Active Metal, then forged it with a mud eye into a Fire Seed Source that could create and absorb Life Fire Seeds.
• Iluna reported that revived Active Corpses had attacked Tobesk, and Shade and Sister Devlin confirmed that their crimson seeds were twisted Life Force.
• A giant flaming eye appeared near the Creation Church headquarters, and Shade used the Fire Seed Source to absorb its attack before the Church suppressed it.
• Shade examined Wei Ge’s soul in a shared dream and found the Emerald Record woven into her essence, where it gave her a Chaos Talent and revealed the voice of her mother.
