He learned that Desire wanted an ancient Skin Object and confronted Wei Ge’s family secrets and her feelings for him, while plans to investigate the Skin Object Hall continued.

• Shade and Winnie defeated the Life evildoer at the Opera House, and Shade learned that Peggy Nicola Le May had died after giving birth to Wei Ge.
• Shade discovered the House of False Men’s plan to attack the Skin Object Hall and made a temporary pact with the Doppelgangers as Flesh City appeared near Grey Rock Pass.
• Shade joined with Sivie and fought Hermons and the Infant-Holding Holy Mother inside the Mystic Lock while Wei Ge learned that Shade was the God Summoner.
• Shade destroyed Flesh City with the Corrupt Moon Flower, but the collapsing Mystic Lock pulled him and Hermons into the Birthing Room of Creation.
• Shade escaped the Birthing Room after Hermons tried to dissolve him, and Wei Ge rescued him from the lake where Desire appeared and offered a bargain for an ancient Skin Object.
• Desire awakened Wei Ge’s desire, but the Witches subdued her and took her to the Witch Council, where the Ancient God’s cleansing power restored her.
• Shade explained his relationships to Wei Ge and revealed Luvia’s divination about her mother, while Wei Ge and Galina made peace and Wei Ge asked Shade to return the next day.

Shade and Wei Ge investigated the Charming Lady Club and pursued the Skin Crafter, who led them into a dangerous Relic before Vanessa and the others rescued them. The search revealed a portion of Wei Ge’s sister inside a bottle, and the group prepared to seek the remaining pieces in the Skin Object Hall.

• Shade learned that the Charming Lady Club connected Bloodkin to missing people and went undercover with Wei Ge to find the Skin Crafter.
• Shade and Wei Ge followed the Skin Crafter into Martha’s Old Mansion Oil Painting, escaped her traps, and fought her until Vanessa, Iluna, and Siris pulled them out.
• The Mermaid consumed the Skin Crafter and revealed the Skin Object Hall’s location, while Desire explained that Wei Ge’s soul could be temporarily repaired and fully cured by finding her sister.
• Shade and Daniste delivered the dangerous Skin Objects to Saint Byron’s for containment, while Luvia warned that intimacy could worsen Peggy Lemay’s influence on Wei Ge.
• Luvia’s divination located one-quarter of Wei Ge’s sister in the Curved Neck Bottle, and Shade identified the alchemical being as Aurora Le May.
• Wei Ge prepared to activate Chaos Bestowal and restore the child in the bottle, while the group planned to find the remaining portions at the Skin Object Hall.
• Shade returned to Fragrant Residence with Sister Devlin and Ellie, where Sister Devlin called him her Hero.

Shade entered the Skin Object Hall with Wei Ge to recover the bottle connected to her family, but an attack and the Hall’s growing danger forced him to leave and join the Witches in the Foul Blood Factory. After they completed the Fourth Life Furnace and defeated the newborn [Life], the One-Armed Prince appeared and demanded that Shade approach him alone.

• Shade and his companions entered the Skin Object Hall, where he created a conceptual Skin Object to pass as a permitted visitor.
• Shade saved two women from the Hall’s game by accepting their accumulated sin, then he and Wei Ge found Lady Connaught and Shade killed her.
• Shade retrieved the Curved Neck Bottle from the Hall, but it held only half the expected solution, and a Demon’s presence appeared as an explosion shook the building.
• Ellie guided Shade and Wei Ge through the Hall’s dangerous exhibits, then Shade touched a mark left by the Moonbeam Greatsword and received Blaine Olanode’s message before returning to the Foul Blood Factory.
• Shade reunited with the Witches, learned more about the Firstborn Sons and the Factory’s dangers, and helped gather the organs and relics needed for the Fourth Life Furnace.
• Shade ignited the Furnace, and he and the Witches followed it through the Blood Sea to find the newborn [Life] inside a Blood Cocoon.
• Shade and the Witches fought the Giant Baby, and Shade’s Withering Crystal weakened it before [Corrupt Moon Flower] killed it after it swallowed him.

Shade escaped the Foul Blood Factory, returned to the Sixth Epoch, and helped contain the Skin Object Hall while pursuing new powers and allies. The arc left him investigating Bloodkin disappearances and a mysterious Ocean that might be the Sea of Origin.

• Shade and his allies entered the Skin Object Hall, where Shade weakened the Scroll Elder and pursued the Hall Master as the relic’s spaces collapsed.
• Shade burned the Hall Master’s skin, gained the Vanity rune and Humility of the Vessel, and received the Scissors from Desire.
