Shade asked curiously. The three stopped by the lakeshore. The calm Artificial Lake had already frozen over, and the shore was surrounded by paths paved with cobblestones and gravel. The scenery here really was quite nice.

"Drive away the flies on the other side of the lake."

Before Shade could gaze at the darkness across the lake, Miss Galina had already completed her spell. She did not reveal her Destiny Ring or use any Spellcasting Materials. She merely pointed the index finger of her right hand toward the opposite shore and flicked it lightly, and Shade heard a faint sound like a bubble being popped.

But his sharp senses noticed a scorching, terrifying current of air shooting toward the opposite shore, leaving warped optical distortions in the night air.

There was no sound, and it seemed as though nothing had happened, but Miss Galina frowned.

"They actually dared to fight back?"

Miss Sylvia's red-polished fingers made a crisp snap. A sudden warm breeze rose from nowhere, seeming to sweep over something malicious.

Shade had no idea what method the Ring Arcanists across the lake had used to retaliate, but a man's brief scream rang out beneath the night sky.

Then rustling came from the bushes on the other side of the lake, and three pitch-black figures fled into the distance as though running for their lives.

"Don't worry, I controlled the sounds nearby."

Miss Galina added. Neither witch intended to pursue them. They did not care in the slightest who those people were.

Having cleared away the flies, the two witches began the ritual to summon the Keeper of Secrets.

Miss Sylvia took out the red lacquered wooden box containing the harmonica, while Miss Galina instructed Shade to open the canvas bag.
