When Shade awoke to a brand-new morning, he heard Luvia and Tifa talking.
Before even opening his eyes, he unexpectedly realized that he felt exceptionally alert today. His body was still somewhat fatigued, and the headache had not completely vanished, but compared to the agony of recent days, like a heavy hammer repeatedly striking his temples, it now felt almost like Little Mia scratching at his skin.
Given his understanding of his own physical condition, this could almost be considered healing.
"Yes, over the past week or so, he has grown half an inch taller. It may not be much, but at his age, that is practically impossible."
Tifa quietly voiced her agreement.
Shade had no intention of eavesdropping and wanted to open his eyes to show that he was awake, but he felt the blanket at his side lifted slightly. Then, a hand gently pinched his upper arm.
"Not only his height, Shade has gained some weight as well. His bone density and muscle strength have both increased. But strangely, judging by appearances, Shade's build has not changed at all. There are no exaggerated muscle bulges, and his abs are still at the same level as before."
Luvia spoke softly, then released his upper arm and tucked the blanket back in.
