The traces of Whisper Element on the man were extremely potent upon contact. The relic controlling him was at least Sage Level. However, the characteristics of this control-type relic seemed to lie more in "concealment" than in "reliability."

Shade looked at the approaching Royal Guards and the carriage not far away, then at the man who was still smiling and waving. Though he knew nothing serious would happen if he did nothing, safety came first after all:

From the sleeve covering his lowered right arm, he slid out a silver fountain pen he had prepared long ago. Raising his left hand, he saluted the approaching carriage.

His voice was drowned out by the crowd and drew no attention, just like the controlled man beside him.

As the carriage drew closer, the man holding the silver fountain pen and the man wearing one on his chest pushed forward together. The people cheered and celebrated, and beneath the Sunday morning light, Miss Galina's golden eyes caught sight of the gleaming silver fountain pen.

But then Shade placed his right hand on the shoulder of the man beside him.

"Puppet Manipulation."

The Whisper Element clashed with the power of Thaumaturgy, and in the end, the Thaumaturgy prevailed. Shade then slipped his right hand into his pocket, transformed a Steam Bomb he had obtained from Leisha that morning from a toy into a real object, and stuffed it into the man's hand from below.

Controlled by Shade, the man removed the silver fountain pen from his chest. Shade then clipped his own silver fountain pen onto his coat pocket.

The carriage approached. The sunlight was perfect, and the cheers startled birds
