The bonfires in the basement and on the third floor had already gone out. Shade tossed out more small gold bars, lit two more bonfires on the first floor, and divided part of the "Sun Fire" from the lantern storing the kindling, sending it into the hearts of the two new flames.
The warm light dispelled most of the fog on the first floor and dried out much of the originally damp air. At least half of the inn's first-floor hall was now usable.
The obstructive tables and chairs were pushed into the darkness, leaving only a few tables for potions, relics, Alchemy Items, and other spare supplies. The unconscious young ladies were gathered together and placed on tables lined with bedding against the walls, where designated people cared for them.
Once everyone who was still awake had gathered, they stood around the three burning bonfires. Pairs of eyes turned toward Shade. He did not know when the people outside the island would arrive, but the ladies before him were undoubtedly his greatest support at the moment.
Shade also voiced his speculation:
"At exactly seven forty-eight, all of us came from Green Lake City to Green Lake Central Island. Or rather, this is not the island in Reality World, but Another Island. And on this island, due to the White Fog, the inn's ritual functions have been greatly weakened. Miss Edwardz has disappeared.
