Emilia's trembling voice was filled with fear and unease, even carrying a hint of timidity. Luvia and Dorothy exchanged a glance, then Dorothy patted the back of the cat on the left in her arms, signaling Shade to call at the door:
"Emilia, it's us."
"Shade? Thank goodness, you're here. You—you, how do you prove you're really you?"
Shade could practically imagine the Elf Girl huddled behind the door, shivering as she asked. He used a paw to push away Little Mia's head as it leaned closer:
"A very cautious question. You really shouldn't open the door carelessly at this hour. I brought Little Mia with me this time. Do you want her to meow?"
As he spoke, he reached out with a paw and patted the orange cat held in Dorothy's other arm. The latter immediately let out a cheerful cry:
"Meow~"
The soft sound was quite pleasant, and smiles appeared on both Luvia's and Dorothy's lips. It seemed to help the Elf Girl behind the door shake off her fear as well, and they heard the anti-theft chain being removed by trembling hands.
