Shade opened the letter, raised an eyebrow after reading it, and handed it to Vanessa. Vanessa was equally surprised:
"The Crescent Moon Secret Society had another purpose in coming here?"
The Crescent Moon Secret Society was composed of female Ring Arcanists who worshipped the Moon, most of them alien creatures. Its origins were obscure. It was said that the group had initially consisted of alien creature Ring Arcanists who worshipped the Moon, but its organization had been extremely loose. They had merely lived together as like-minded people and had not formed a unified group until the middle of the Fifth Epoch, when they finally acquired their own name. Thus, although they were not a modern branch of the Order of the Old Gods, they unexpectedly knew a great many ancient secret texts.
"They gave Galina a Poem Chapter Fragment and requested the Council's help. They said that an ancient leader of the secret society from the Fifth Epoch had left something in Vesta Woodland, and they hoped we could help search for it."
Vanessa looked up at Shade:
"I'm not actually familiar with them either. The Crescent Moon Secret Society's ties with the Council were mostly with the previous generation. Back then, even the Speaker was still an apprentice. Should we assist them?"
"Shouldn't you be asking Miss Isabella that question?"
"But aren't you the one making decisions right now?"
"We should still ask her. But this sounds strange. If they knew there was something here, why did they choose now to ask you for help? Have they been busy for the thousand-odd years since the Sixth Epoch began?"
Shade was puzzled, then muttered to himself:
