For the rest of the week, Shade had nothing to do in Middlesburg, so he spent the following Friday and Saturday mornings entirely on preparations for the Sealing Ritual.

Sister Devlin provided the full ritual procedure. Shade went to Coldwater Port to purchase the materials, while Old John was asked to help with the Alchemy Items. As for conducting the ritual, Dorothy, Luvia, and Doctor Schneider would assist together, though it would probably have to wait until next week.

With some time on his hands, Shade not only stayed home reading the Pink Book and trying to learn useful spells, but also took Mia to the lighthouse outside the city of Coldwater Port to visit Mr. Edmund of the Guiding Light Hermitage, who lived there.

The Hermit Order's knowledge cost money, but out of consideration for an acquaintance, Mr. Edmund only charged Shade a symbolic fee for materials and transportation, one pound in total.
