The severe injuries Shade had suffered from burning his divinity should have kept him bedridden for at least half a year before he could walk again. But the thanks bestowed by those departed souls had completely healed the wounds of both his soul and body.
Mental exhaustion, however, was not something that could be solved by sleeping for a few hours. Coupled with the physical and mental burden brought by Incarnating as God, Shade had fallen into such deep slumber that he did not even know how he had returned to his bedroom.
When he woke dazedly in his own bed, he stared blankly at the familiar ceiling for a moment before realizing that he had probably missed more than one cat-feeding time: "It should be no problem. Luvia has a spare key, so she'll definitely help me feed the cat."
The bed was so soft, and the blankets were so warm. The confusion from waking gradually faded. Thinking that he was sleeping in his own house, and that even the land beneath his feet belonged to him, made Shade feel even more content: "After running around for two months, the story of Middlesburg has finally come to an end. Sister Devlin was the Chosen One of Death, and Grace and Helen fulfilled their wishes as well. What's more, I did a good deed and helped all those souls that should have departed long ago leave this world. This autumn has truly been meaningful."
In that cheerful mood, he reached to the side, but did not find his cat.
Supporting himself against the bed, he prepared to get up. Having lain down for too long, his body even felt somewhat sore. But as the Primordial Fire flowed through him, that slight discomfort vanished in an instant: "Another new day."
