Yellow Skin Seeks the Dao

The platform was empty and silent, stars hung low in the high wind.

Mo Chuan casually found a secluded corner, sat down cross-legged, and gently closed his eyes, earnestly recalling Juezhen Zi's teachings.

The Three Scenery Daoist Magic summons the essence of the sun, moon, and stars, from which three techniques are derived.

They are:

Jade Sun Summoning, Luminous Moon Seizing, and Seven Spirits Guiding Stars.

Tonight, the moonlight is bright and the stars are numerous, making it an excellent time to cultivate "Luminous Moon Seizing" and "Seven Spirits Guiding Stars."

The specific cultivation details are further divided into two stages:

Nascent and Entry.

Nascent refers to those who have never cultivated the Three Scenery Daoist Magic and cannot sense the essence of the sun, moon, and stars. They must follow the Contemplation Dao.

This involves contemplating the three lights of the sun, moon, and stars, and through imitation, ingesting them. This is practiced with actions like holding one's breath, clenching teeth, and swallowing saliva, cultivating in a manner of "knowing the 'how' without understanding the 'why'."

Once one successfully ingests the first mouthful of sun, moon, and star essence, they are considered to have entered the stage and can follow the Qi Refining Dao, using that single mouthful of essence to draw in the three lights of the sun, moon, and stars.

Mo Chuan is currently in the Nascent stage, thus he must follow the Contemplation Dao.

This is somewhat similar to visualization techniques.

However, it is not about baseless imagination. Instead, it requires emptying the mind and ingesting and expelling the essence in a state of hazy awareness.

Quoting the scripture of the Three Scenery Daoist Magic, it states: "The void is filled with primal harmony, breathing in flowing cinnabar dew, the embryonic breath stills all passages, a profound understanding of the three benefits..."

Mo Chuan dared not deviate, his every action followed Juezhen Zi's guidance. Unconsciously, his thoughts became vacant, and time flowed like water.

In a state between dream and wakefulness, he suddenly felt a coolness in his throat and abruptly opened his eyes, the lingering haziness vanishing.

The coolness in his throat had not disappeared but had become even clearer.

When his will projected towards it, he could faintly perceive an amorphous substance.

It seemed like qi, like light.

It accumulated in his chest, slowly seeping into his spirit.

"Entry!"

Mo Chuan rejoiced inwardly and attempted to control this wisp of moonlight.

At first, the moonlight was as immovable as a mountain. With his persistent projection of consciousness, the moonlight gradually became active, eventually moving with his thoughts, circulating throughout his body, and nourishing his soul.

"Is this the Three Scenery Daoist Magic? It truly is miraculous!"

After controlling it for a while, Mo Chuan then attempted to draw in the moonlight.

Unlike the previous hazy state, this time, using the wisp of moonlight he had drawn into his body, he successfully perceived the moonlight scattered across the heavens and earth.

Under the guidance of the moonlight wisp, it converged into a single stream and slowly flowed into his body.

"Luminous Moon Seizing, this technique has reached entry."

Mo Chuan let out a long breath. Not daring to be greedy, he then proceeded to cultivate "Seven Spirits Guiding Stars."

The so-called Seven Spirits refer to the Big Dipper.

This technique is similar to the Star Worship Technique.

While having breakfast, he opened his online shopping platform again and purchased some supplies.

It turned out that the Three Scenery Daoist Magic also allowed for the sealing of the sun, moon, and star lights within talismans.

These were also known as: Jade Sun Talisman, Luminous Moon Talisman, and Seven Spirits Talisman.

This method was recorded in the Supreme Hidden Book and involved many specific requirements:

The Jade Sun Talisman was to be written on blue paper with red ink and stored in a crimson silk pouch.

The Luminous Moon Talisman was to be written on blue paper with cinnabar and stored in a yellow silk pouch.

The Seven Spirits Talisman was to be written on blue paper with tea and stored in a pouch made of various herbs.

The blue paper mentioned here was not paper of a blue color, but rather the "blue paper and purple ink" used for imperial decrees, also known as Black Gold Paper.

Juezhen Zi didn't teach the ways of the Three Scenery Talismans, merely giving his disciples a heads-up to prepare.

As such, Mo Chuan was unaware of the specifics. He spent half the day searching online but remained confused, so he ended up purchasing a bit of everything that seemed remotely related.

After this shopping spree, he took stock of his remaining money and was stunned.

"Damn it, if this keeps up, I'll be broke in less than ten days!"

"That old Daoist Juezhen's words were really accurate… 'Wealth is the foundation of self, the source of life, and the sustenance for cultivation!' Without money, I can't move an inch!"

That evening, Juezhen Zi once again stayed late in the hall, lecturing and demonstrating Daoist practices.

Unfortunately, he didn't cover the Three Scenery Talismans, which Mo Chuan had been eagerly anticipating. Instead, he went into detail about the cultivation specifics of the Three Scenery Daoist Magic.

Mo Chuan experienced the joy of being a top student for the first time.

He never imagined that the Three Scenery Daoist Magic had so many intricate details and hidden challenges.

The disciples of Yunji Temple encountered all sorts of bizarre situations, truly out of the ordinary.

There was the case of "During Luminous Moon Seizing, the moon appeared from the chest, causing unbearable swelling";

Another mentioned "Hallucinations emanating from the ears, as if immortals were imparting knowledge";

And yet another described "Moonlight entering the body, like a fish in a pond, thrashing about uncontrollably."

It was a menagerie of oddities that left Mo Chuan wide-eyed. At the same time, he began to realize how reckless his solitary cultivation had been.

If any abnormal situations arose, he could easily fall into a Daoist demonic deviation.

At that point, he wouldn't be able to call out to heaven or earth for help!

Unexpectedly, three ethereal streams of incense smoke, spanning across two realms, wafted towards him.

Using the incense smoke as a mirror, Mo Chuan raised an eyebrow.

It was the Yellow Skin Great Immortal—Huang Buyu—whom he had encountered when he first obtained the Sacrificial Dao Furnace!

He appeared human-like, dressed in a blue greatcoat, holding three incense sticks in his claws, kneeling on a prayer mat before the Chen family's ancestral shrine, diligently performing a sacrifice.

On the offering table, a few freshly picked wild fruits of various colors could be seen, looking quite charming.

"This humble rogue cultivator Huang Buyu pays his respects to the Nine Netherworlds' Immortal Mo! I apologize for disturbing you so late at night. I truly have a confusion in my cultivation and fear falling into an evil path. I hope Immortal Mo can guide me. Huang Buyu is willing to follow Immortal Mo and serve at your command."
