Alternating Cold and Heat
Storm Highlands, north of Trill's Gullet.
This region, once ravaged by Raging Flames, has suffered many misfortunes, and now it is once again facing endless cold winds.
"By my God Solem above."
"You are the ancestor of all Frost Giant, granting our enemies Eternal Sleep."
"The blizzard is your powerful breath, transforming into cold to fight alongside us, plunging our enemies into eternal trembling!"
The Frost Giant Priest chanted ancient incantations simultaneously, and the mysterious runes covering their bodies lit up.
[Everfrost Descends]
Clumps of cold mist surged in the sky, churning and spreading until they finally created a terrifying blizzard on the once peaceful land.
This is the Everfrost Power Frost Giant Tribe. And this is without the aid of any sacred artifacts. If they obtained the Everfrost Horn, the blizzard would be even more terrifying, perhaps even enough to sweep across the entire Storm Highlands.
The blizzard was rapidly sweeping southward, and hundreds of Frost Giant were marching through it, their howling winds mingling with battle cries and rough songs.
"We are the biting frost, the churning ice mist."
"It is the biting cold wind, the icy vengeful spirits, and the eternal howl."
"Humans tremble before us, and even dragons bow their heads before the cold wind."
"We come from ancient times, following the glory of the past, and let the white storm sweep across the land once more."
"We are the endless Frost Scourge!"
Kasa Everfrost, the chieftain of the Everfrost tribe and a frost giant warrior, donned a menacing armor made of white dragon scales, smeared his face with black paint symbolizing war, and rode atop the back of the largest tundra land dragon, raising his heavy double-bladed axe with one arm.
"For the Everfrost Tribe!"
"Reclaim the sacred artifacts and restore the glory of our ancestors!"
The sunlight was almost completely blocked, and the wasteland was brutally dyed white with frost. In the snow-blurred vision, the giants' army advanced southward like a tall ice wall.
This catastrophic scene caused the earth to tremble and all things on the wasteland to shudder.
The howling, cold wind proclaimed to the creatures of Anzeta—
Frost Scourge has struck!
Outside the Trill's Gullet.
The armies of the Embers of the Burned Kingdom were on high alert.
The Ogre heavy infantry gripped their giant shields, the Hobgoblin infantry lined up in formation with spears in hand, the Wyvern flapped their wings in a dark, low-flying mass, and the Wasteland Striding Dragon, serving as war fortresses, let out a dull snort.
"Damn it..."
"It's that kind of weird stuff again."
Looking at the overwhelming snowstorm, the Dragon Vein Hobgoblin, who feared the cold, couldn't help but spit out a curse, as if recalling some unpleasant past.
This was the first time the army of the Embers of the Burned Kingdom had faced such a formidable foe. Compared to the Frost Giant army that came with the cold wind, the human forces in the Trill Battle seemed utterly insignificant.
But this also gave them a fervent passion for facing powerful enemies—a fighting spirit bestowed upon them by the flowing Red Dragon bloodline.
Lang Pu looked at the approaching blizzard with a solemn expression.
"Spells of this quality"
"The casting method is not arcane, but more like divine magic. Its scale is even close to the ninth level. It is truly a formidable opponent."
The Ogre Archmage commented in this way.
But faced with this terrifying scene, Lang Pu was not afraid. He simply adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses as always and calmly analyzed the situation.
Dolo, growing impatient, said to him, "Lang Pu, do you even have the ability to solve this so-called Frost Scourge?"
"Just staring at it won't stop the snowstorm."
Lang Pu glanced at him sideways, his tone still flat yet slightly sarcastic:
"Unnecessary urging will not solve the problem."
"Commander Dolo, you're not scared anymore, are you? After that time you were almost killed by a human with some Frost Giant blood."
Dolo gritted his teeth in anger and exhaled a puff of smoke. This incident had caused him a great deal of humiliation, but Lang Pu brought it up again at an inopportune time.
"Lang Pu, I'm warning you! Don't you dare try to demoralize the troops!"
"I was just stating the facts."
Lang Pu grinned, a sinister smile spreading across his ugly face.
"I don't have the ability to deal with this level of spell on my own, but we have our greatest reliance—our master."
Keosius, now in human form, stood silently atop the mountain, looking down at the Frost Giant marching south and the terrible blizzards that followed.
Do you think you're the only ones who can influence the weather?
"Frost Giant"
Keosius muttered to himself.
He revealed the ring on his finger, the Storm King's Eye, which he held ever more firmly in his grasp, gleaming with a breathtaking light.
That was a spell to reach the eighth layer of the Weave—
[Control Weather]
With the powerful fluctuations of magical energy, the climate within a radius of several kilometers underwent drastic changes.
Temperatures rose sharply, moisture stored on the ground evaporated rapidly, and the air became hot and humid, causing large clouds of steam to rise.
This restless warm current collided with the cold wind sweeping in from the south, and a violent reaction was imminent.
"Whoosh—"
Accompanied by a loud noise, a wide band of clouds stretching for thousands of meters appeared at the boundary. The flying hail and snowflakes instantly sublimated, and the newly generated steam billowed and churned. The thick, hot wind blocked the invasion of the wind and snow.
The two opposing forces Contend Against, collided, and wore each other down, which actually caused the surrounding temperature to stabilize and gradually return to normal, forming an area covered with water and shrouded in mist.
Before the two armies even made contact, the contest of magic had already begun.
Keosius narrowed his eyes, controlling the Storm King's Eye with his will to Contend Against the blizzard sweeping in from the north.
"This spell is really high quality; it can't even completely control the Control Weather."
"The spellcasters of the Everfrost Tribe are quite formidable."
"It seems we can't trigger a natural disaster like the Trill Battle."
Keosius was surprised by the tenacity of the blizzard; the Everfrost Rune Power was no less than his own Eighth Circle Spell.
In that white space amidst the wind and snow, several Frost Giant Priest also looked solemn. This was the first time they had encountered such a situation, and they were somewhat at a loss.
"Solem is above."
"The Everfrost Power has actually been blocked."
The Frost Giant ' blizzard marches have always been devastating, sweeping across the the North with impunity.
For the first time, however, these Frost Giant encountered a force that was evenly matched and worthy of their attention.
In the "Observation Group" behind the Burning Camp, Trischka noticed the changing weather around him, watching the Contend Against between the blizzard and the heat in the distance, feeling somewhat incredulous.
"How could a magical Contend Against of this level possibly occur in Magic Wasteland like Anzeta?"
"Neither the Frost Giant nor the Red Dragon should be here."
Trischka thought to himself.
