Keosius's Summons
"I don't have time to play around with you guys anymore."
Wagnerd finally lost his patience and gently raised his hand.
[Death Cloud Spell]
A yellowish-green, highly toxic gas rolled in. The players tried to disperse it with Wind Creation Spell, but the gas was too deadly; even the slightest contact caused their skin to fester.
When the yellowish-green poison enveloped them, even players with full protective spells would be instantly reduced to mangled corpses by the corrosive effects of the Poison Mist.
The potted plant that the "Flying Witch" transformed into withered instantly upon contact with the Death Cloud Spell.
The [Magic Coin] guild was completely wiped out.
There are differences even among mages, and this time it's an absolute difference in spellcasting ability. Even the simplest Magic Missile is vastly different in the hands of Archmage and a mage apprentice. In game data terms, this is what is called spellcasting ability—a legendary mage's missile can even bring down a dragon, while a mage apprentice's missile might not even kill a well-trained Goblin.
The players were all dead, but Wagnerd did not leave. Instead, he stood quietly in place, as cautious as a true rational mage, not at all like the madman in the rumors.
Half an hour passed, and he was still waiting.
The broken bodies made a slight sound, first turning into tiny particles of light, and then disappearing.
A ghostly blue light flickered in Wagnerd's eyes, his expression grave. "My Divination Spell saw nothing, just emptiness. This teleportation didn't even produce the slightest spatial fluctuation, it's like..."
"They do not belong to this world."
"These guys who call themselves players must have some incredible backing."
Wagnerd's voice was hoarse, and his whole body suddenly trembled. A cold wind inexplicably blew through the tower, causing his black robe to flutter.
"Ha ha."
"Hahahaha! Once I truly master the dragon's power and obtain that raging strength, I will drag you all out!"
"At that time, not a single one will be able to escape."
His eyes were filled with extreme fanaticism, and even his ugly face was trembling.
North Wind Fortress, inside the Hall of Governance.
The Red Dragon lay horizontally on the massive Iron Throne, its body rising and falling with its breath, occasionally exhaling hot Sulfur Scent breath.
The steel beneath him had turned reddish from the unconscious spread of the restless heat within his body. If an ordinary person sat on it, they might be roasted alive. White smoke filled the entire Hall of Governance, and bubbling magma seemed about to gush out from the ground, as if purgatory had descended upon the world.
However, Keosius simply activated [Kingdom Domain], and an invisible force enveloped the entire hall, smoothing out the violently fluctuating Weave. The restless Fire Elemental instantly subsided, and the scorching air gradually cooled down. The hellish hall returned to its original state, leaving only some blackish-gray lava solidified from magma.
"Phew, I almost lost control of my strength again."
"I can no longer remain asleep in this city. I don't know how long it will take for my palace to be completed."
Keosius slowly opened his eyes, a hint of relief showing in his golden pupils.
He didn't want to turn North Wind Fortress into a living hell of lava while he was still asleep. After all, it had become the political and economic center of the entire Embers of the Burned Kingdom. If it were suddenly destroyed, it would be crippling and would deal a major blow to the entire kingdom.
The magic mirror beside him shimmered with spiritual light, but it was suppressed by the power of the domain—that was Lang Pu requesting to make contact.
Keosius casually dispelled the Kingdom Domain over that area, Ogre's hideous face reappeared in the Magic Image.
Lang Pu looked respectful, with a hint of seriousness on his face.
"My esteemed master."
"What's up?"
"I have already issued the investigation mission as you instructed. In the past few days, the Starfallers have made several trips to explore the Polar Night Demon Tower and brought back a wealth of intelligence for the kingdom. I have compiled all of the information, including the tower's location, defense details, exploration routes, and even the specific laws of Wagnerd, and I am ready to present them to you immediately."
"By the way, your recruitment of these fearless Starfallers was an extremely brilliant choice. If you were to send ordinary adventurers to explore forbidden areas like the Mysteries, you would probably have to pay a bounty of thousands of Gold Coin. But by sending hundreds of people to their deaths, the kingdom has only paid a negligible ' Faction Contribution '."
In addition to his report, Lang Pu also made sure to offer some flattery.
Upon hearing this, Keosius's lazy eyes showed a hint of seriousness.
"Come to the lobby and report yourself. It's about time we took action."
"Yes, Master."
Faced with the Red Dragon's command, Lang Pu did not hesitate to activate a teleportation spell. Accompanied by a ripple in space, he appeared in the Hall of Governance through Space Rift in the Dimensional Door.
Keosius deliberately opened up the Kingdom Domain to allow the Ogre Mage to enter.
Kneeling before the Red Dragon, Lang Pu couldn't help but exclaim, "Master, your ability is unimaginably powerful. In my humble perception, this space is as solid as if it were cast in steel. Ordinary spatial magic cannot pass through it at all. I can't even make a hole the size of my palm in it."
Keosius did not answer, but instead looked Lang Pu up and down.
The Ogre Mage's physique remained the same, only the Dragon Vein Traits on his body became more pronounced.
He used to wear a huge cloak made of various magical cloaks, but now Lang Pu has combined them into one, and the scarlet robe almost trails on the ground, containing a dazzling magical aura, making him look much more sophisticated.
The most eye-catching items are the Ogre decorations.
Around his neck hung a necklace of nine pale white skulls, enough to send chills down the spines of ordinary people, and it also made the Red Dragon's lips twitch slightly, giving him a subtle sense of déjà vu.
"Is this damn thing from the Flowing Sand River?"
Keosius thought to himself, somewhat speechless.
He opened the panel and saw that the skulls displayed names such as "Schroeder's Wisdom," "Raul's Wisdom," and "Wadella's Wisdom," most of which were rare or uncommon qualities.
He recalled Lang Pu's previous unreserved disclosure and naturally guessed the origin of these skulls.
Sure enough, before Red Dragon could even ask, Lang Pu answered first.
"Master, after interrogating those sorcerers, I realized they were truly wicked and had ulterior motives. I couldn't bear to watch any longer, so I killed them."
"It's a pity that their brains are obviously not smart enough to produce such a perfect work. Even if they combine them to improve, it won't be as significant as the first time. Only Schroeder's work is more effective."
Lang Pu's tone even revealed a hint of disappointment, after all, such a thing is not something that can be easily made.
