Battle Inside the Tower
A Space Rift appeared inside the Midnight Tower, and due to the extremely accurate coordinates, it led directly into the so-called "Death Corridor".
Gazing at the lingering, deadly poison cloud that permeated the corridor, Lang Pu, who was prepared, grinned, and the miniature skull pendant on his chest emitted a magical glow.
That was only a second-circle spell, but it was the most suitable—
[Dispel Smoke]
It can cause natural or magical smoke in the casting area to dissipate quickly.
A gentle breeze swept by, and the dangerous, deadly clouds quickly dissipated, restoring clear vision to Lang Pu's eyes.
The heavy iron cage at the end of the passage slowly opened, and countless monsters gripped the cold bars with their claws, shaking them impatiently, eager to be released and tear apart the fat enemy not far away.
However, Lang Pu simply raised his staff slightly, and the yellowish-grey aura representing the rocks flickered.
Stone Wall Spell
With a rumbling sound, the ground trembled, and a thick wall of stone suddenly rose up, blocking all the monsters on one side of the passage.
The ferocious dragon-like monsters were still unwilling to give up. They swarmed forward, crowding tightly on the other side of the wall, trying to use their companions' bodies as stepping stones to overcome the stone wall with their numerical advantage.
But Lang Pu wasn't about to give them that chance, and he raised the spell again.
[Grease]
Large patches of viscous grease appeared on the ground, soaking the bodies of many dragon-like monsters and causing them to lose friction. Those who were stepping on other monsters slipped and fell to the ground. All kinds of monsters rolled and jostled, creating a chaotic mess under the stone wall.
However, the matter was not over yet; a sinister grin appeared on Lang Pu's fleshy face.
"A mere beast devoid of reason."
"You want to eat me too?"
His staff flashed with intense fiery light, unleashing powerful elemental energy.
That's Fourth Circle Spell—
Wall of Fire
A raging wall of fire suddenly rose up, clinging tightly to the Bedrock Wall, and the scorching flames devoured all the hundreds of dragon-transformed monsters.
"Aww—"
The monsters instantly burst into flames, their bodies coated in grease, which fueled the fire even more fiercely. Even when they escaped the wall of fire, their grease-soaked bodies continued to burn intensely, sizzling and hissing, emitting mournful howls from deep within their throats as they writhed and struggled amidst the flames.
Lang Pu seized the opportunity and easily stopped the spell.
The stone wall slowly descended, revealing that the ground inside the passage was covered with charred corpses.
As Lang Pu smelled the aroma of roasted meat wafting through the air, a greedy look appeared on his face. He couldn't help but lick his lips, and drool dripped from the corner of his mouth.
But in the end, this Ogre Mage had held a high position for many years, managed to restrain his instinctive impulse.
He wiped his mouth and said fiercely:
"Damn it, if it weren't for the master's mission, you wouldn't even have left your corpses."
"It's such a waste to have so much food."
Lang Pu hurried through the passageway, muttering to himself as he went.
The heavy metal door in front of them was firmly locked by the [Arcane Lock], and a black light membrane enveloped it.
However, Lang Pu was still prepared, with a confident expression, and gently knocked on the door with his shimmering staff.
Knock
With a soft "bang," the light membrane suddenly shattered into countless tiny fragments and then disappeared.
The metal door swung open with a bang.
Lang Pu stepped into it.
Just then, a blurry image appeared in the [Calamity Dragon Eye] that was floating beside him.
A man shrouded in a black robe appeared and strolled toward Lang Pu —this was the future scene that Longyan had predicted.
Is it finally coming?
"The so-called ' Dragon Mad Black Wizard '."
A look of anticipation appeared on Lang Pu's fleshy face, and sweat beaded on his hands as he gripped his staff, ready to cast a spell at any moment.
Sure enough, the black, ferocious claws tore through space, and a Space Rift appeared in front of Lang Pu.
Wagnerd, dressed in a black burqa, stepped out from within.
"You are different from those annoying flies of the past."
"You are very strong."
"And there's no inexplicable sense of detachment."
His hoarse voice echoed in the corridor, like a lingering ghost.
Wagnerd suddenly raised his head, staring intently at Lang Pu, and gradually revealed a chilling smile.
"You'll be a great guinea pig, won't you?"
Lang Pu was no weakling; cannibalism was commonplace for him, and he had conducted countless experiments on his enemies. Therefore, the Ogre Mage had taken human form was not only unafraid of him, but even felt a sense of kinship with him.
He merely sneered and raised his staff:
"Heh, we'll see if you have the skill. I think your head would make excellent material too—"
Wagnerd remained unperturbed, simply staring at Lang Pu with a hollow, Negative Energy in his eyes.
Instantly, his eyes transformed into a long black corridor encased in teeth, his gaze like a deep black hole, drawing people into Abyss.
[Eyebite]
Not only did the Calamity Dragon Eye give the omen, but Lang Pu had also prepared his magic long ago.
He created a mirror-like area of soft light in front of him, which moved with his gaze without affecting his vision.
This is a second-circle spell specifically designed to defend against gaze attacks.
The Gaze Veil
Wagnerd's [Eyebite] was reflected back into his own eyes by the mirror, blocked by the black light film covering his body, but it also made his body stiffen slightly for a moment.
Even his own Sixth-Circle Spell are not so easy to withstand.
And Lang Pu couldn't wait for this brief moment.
He brandished his staff with all his might, his eyes seemingly blazing with fire, and bursts of scorching fireballs hurtled toward Wagnerd with each movement.
Lang Pu knew that Wagnerd had [Trigger Spell] and [Otiluke's Resilient Sphere], which was almost equivalent to having an extra life, but his goal was to force out this guy's "resurrection armor" so as to create a better opportunity for Keosius to take the shot later.
However, Wagnerd's stiffness lasted only a moment, and his eyes soon regained their clarity.
With a slight movement, an invisible force field enveloped him, surrounding him within a half-meter radius. The terrifying fireball was annihilated and vanished before it could even touch his body.
That's Anti-Magic Field.
"You guy covered in turtle shell, I don't think you're crazy."
"Just a coward."
Lang Pu sneered and mocked, then waved his hand to summon another blazing fireball. After years of training, his Fireball had become a specialized spell, and with the Elemental Affinity of the Red Dragon bloodline, its power was comparable to some fifth-circle level Evocation spells.
Given Wagnerd's experience, how could he not see that Lang Pu had known about his legal code beforehand?
This is a world of difference for a battle between mages.
Mages of the same level, if they understand the spell table, can even engage in a crushing battle.
A playful smile appeared on Wagnerd's face:
"Ha, I see. Although you're not one of those people, you're in cahoots with them, aren't you? You're one of the people hiding behind the scenes."
"You overconfident fool, do you think you can stand against me just because you've only seen the tip of the Ice Mountain?"
