Final Arrangements
"Now that everything is finally arranged, can I finally rest in peace?"
"What else was there?"
Keosius yawned again, sorting through the complicated thoughts in his mind, but he was, after all, a lazy and sleepy Red Dragon, and almost fell asleep again while thinking.
However, compared to the Red Dragon lords who are usually obsessed with muscles and lava, Keosius was definitely one of the "diligent" ones. Even in the era of the ancient dragons, he could be considered a wise and virtuous king.
As someone who knows the future, he possesses a sense of urgency unlike any other dragon.
Most dragons sleep soundly for decades or even centuries, and when they wake up, their ministers have changed once or even several times over—after all, their lives are short, and most of them have already died of old age during this long period of time.
"Bang!"
Keosius spewed black smoke from his nostrils and used his claws to support the Da Tou that was about to fall and close its eyes.
"Oh right, I almost forgot about the demon."
Red Dragon rubbed his sleepy eyes and muttered to himself.
This is the main quest "Fury of the Winter" from the previous version of "Northern Lands Feng Yun".
Led by the original "Fury of the Mountains" and "Devil Dragon" Keosius, tens of thousands of demons surged out from the depths of the mountains, launching a massive invasion of the Anzeta Great Wasteland, wantonly slaughtering all life in their path. The nations of the the North will unite to fight alongside the players against the invasion of the Abyssal Devil.
However, thanks to Keosius's drastic changes, the situation in the the North is now completely different. The various countries appear to be trembling under the wings of the Red Dragon, vaguely wanting to unite.
However, he was certain of one thing—the invasion of demons was inevitable.
This is why he plans to unify the the North quickly in four years. Only by unifying the Northern Kingdom and integrating most of Anzeta's power can he Contend Against the endless, surging Abyssal Devil.
Thinking of this, Keosius ordered, "Quickly, call Alger over."
The Red Dragon sounded impatient because all he could think about was going to bed early; even his dragon instincts were urging him on.
The spell delivered Keosius's orders with urgency.
Soon, a loud eagle's cry rang out from outside the palace—it was Alger riding the Dragon Vein Giant Eagle.
According to the etiquette established by the kingdom's ministers, they would land outside the palace, undergo a series of procedures including identity verification and announcement, enter the gate, walk for miles along a wide road, and finally enter the main hall where the Red Dragon resides.
But Keosius clearly had no patience to "show his authority" and urged from afar, "Let's go straight into the palace and not waste time outside."
Upon hearing the Red Dragon's personal command, the Tiefling guards on the city walls opened the gates, and the Wyvern on the stone pillars lowered their heads, ceasing their roars and howls.
Alger, on the other hand, flew into the palace without hindrance.
In just a few breaths, Alger, riding the giant eagle, landed lightly in front of the main hall.
Alger flipped down and said to the temple gate.
"Master, I have arrived."
"Come in."
The heavy metal door, adorned with a ferocious dragon head, slowly opened.
Alger steadily entered the hall, while the Dragon Vein Giant Eagle, understanding his intentions, waited obediently outside.
He knelt on one knee before the steps and said respectfully, "Please forgive me, Master, I am a little late."
With the departure of players, Alger's Red Scale Garrison became much quieter.
After all, the requirements to become Red Scale Conqueror are too high, so even now, there are not many Red Scale Conqueror among the natives. He has almost become a lone commander - while he used to have nearly twenty players under his command.
However, after avenging his great grudge, he no longer craved power and was happy to enjoy a peaceful life.
"Alger, how many Red Scale Conqueror are still in the garrison after the Starfallers left?"
Alger replied, "I apologize for my incompetence, but there are four of us, including myself."
Keosius shook his head and said, "Not enough, far from enough."
"The development of the Red Scale Conqueror cannot rely solely on those Starfallers; you need to cultivate more new forces."
Alger lowered his head and gave a bitter smile, "Master, the training of this kind of cavalry is measured in years, and the requirements are extremely high and the costs are very high. I can only do my best."
Keosius said, "I will provide you with ample funding, and with the kingdom's current size, I don't believe we can't find a hundred Wyvern Knight among hundreds of thousands of people."
Alger had no choice but to reply, "Yes, Master."
Keosius then asked, "Have you found anything during your recent patrols?"
After a moment's thought, Alger replied, "The Bosque Duchy has been much quieter lately. Half a year ago, we could still see their cavalry running rampant near our borders, but now they are almost nowhere to be seen. Not to mention the other countries in the the North. It seems that your power has deterred them."
"Very good, just as I expected."
Keosius paused.
"However, you will also have a difficult task to perform—to patrol the Anstica Mountains and search for any trace of demons for me."
The Red Dragon's words carried an uncompromising tone of command.
Alger immediately knelt down on one knee and obeyed the order, saying, "Yes."
After a moment's hesitation, he cautiously reminded him, "However, the Kingdom does not border the Anstica Mountains. We may have to pass through the territory of the Bosque Duchy, and I fear this may cause unnecessary conflict between the two countries."
The Red Dragon answered calmly:
"I have already informed Lang Pu of this order in advance, and he will cooperate. I will have him grant you access to the Dimensional Door, and after confirming the specific coordinates, you can travel back and forth using magic."
"Even if the spell cannot be cast normally, the kingdom can still demand military passage from the Bosque Duchy. They still owe us a lot of money. We can just use some of that debt as collateral. You can rest assured about that."
Keosius's golden eyes shone with a fiery light.
"But your mission this time is extremely important, concerning the future of the kingdom and even the entire the North. You must complete it successfully. If you discover any information about demons, you must immediately report it to the kingdom's higher-ups."
Hearing this, Alger understood the gravity of the matter and didn't raise any unnecessary questions, as that would only annoy the Red Dragon.
He answered directly, "Yes, Master, I will complete the mission."
With a loud eagle cry, Alger rode away on his giant eagle.
Watching the giant eagle knight depart, Keosius couldn't help but yawn, exhaling a hot breath, and muttered to himself:
"Tsk, finally I can get a good night's sleep."
