Olivia (IV)
"Tinia?"
Keosius turned around and saw the White Dragon entering the palace.
Tinia ran over quickly.
She bowed her head respectfully to the Red Dragon and, following the etiquette she had learned in the palace, said softly, "Master, you are awake. You have become even stronger."
Tinia's vertical pupils were filled with adoration and fanaticism.
Keosius stared at the White Dragon before him, nodding slightly in surprise.
Unexpectedly, Lang Pu actually accomplished the task he was given quite well. This incredibly intelligent White Dragon learned to speak and the most basic manners in just three years.
Olivia, lying on the ground, barely opened her eyes. Seeing the approaching White Dragon, she weakly scoffed:
"Tsk, to be associated with the ' White Beast ', the Five-Colored Dragon are birds of a feather."
Hearing this, Tinia was undoubtedly struck where it hurt. She spread her wings, arched her back, and let out a hiss from her throat.
"Awooo—"
"Master, I'm going to bite this damned Silver Dragon to death!"
Just as Tinia lunged forward, Keosius grabbed her by the back of the neck and easily pulled her back.
"Tinia, don't act rashly. This Silver Dragon is still useful to me."
"But master, why? This Silver Dragon spoke rudely to you! 'Roar!' Let me tear her to shreds!"
Even with the back of its neck being grabbed, the White Dragon still bared its fangs and claws in mid-air, as if it wanted to rush up and claw the Silver Dragon until it was covered in wounds.
Keosius was somewhat speechless. It seemed that even after receiving careful education, her nature had not changed much.
Sure enough, we still have to rely on the old methods.
He casually tossed the White Dragon to the ground and said coldly, "Obey orders."
Tinia rolled on the ground several times before slowly getting up and standing obediently behind the Red Dragon with a reluctant expression, though a smug look had already appeared on her face.
She was still glaring fiercely at the Silver Dragon —if looks could kill, Olivia would have been executed by slow slicing several times over.
"Ugh."
Olivia twisted her body again, her wings slightly spread, attempting to break free from the magic circle.
But it was all in vain, doing nothing but adding a few more charred scars to her body.
Keosius looked down at her and said in a calm tone, "Silver Dragon, stop fighting like a trapped beast. Unless your life level can reach the level of an ancient dragon, all resistance is futile. Only submission is the only shortcut."
"The kingdom needs High-Level Spellcaster like you. Your magic can make a much greater contribution than the meaningless eradication of evil. Think about it, you should have seen those Mechanical Factories by now. Using magical effects to increase productivity and feed the people is what most people consider true justice."
"Of course, I'm only concerned with my own interests, but this title is very important to you rigid Metallic Dragon."
He gave a soft, cold laugh.
"However, if you want, you might be able to escape if you stay here for another eight hundred years."
Thinking of her own predicament of being trapped for a hundred years, Tinia, standing behind the Red Dragon, smugly mocked, "You lowly Silver Dragon, this is what happens when you oppose your master. You'll never be able to get out again!"
It had a rather arrogant attitude, like a fox borrowing the tiger's power.
Under the greedy drain of the magic circle, Olivia's life force had become extremely weak.
But her eyes still shone with determination, showing no sign of wanting to give in, and it was unknown what was secretly supporting this Young Silver Dragon.
"Impossible"
You're dreaming.
Keosius seemed to have expected this, and after only one glance, he turned and left.
He left only one sentence. "Then let's wait and see."
The [Wagnerd Dragon Binding Array] is the culmination of the life's work of that Dragon Mad Black Wizard. It is also a sinister and ruthless spell that greedily absorbs the Life Force of dragons and transforms it into its own magic power, keeping the trapped dragons' lives at a minimum without causing them to die completely.
Under the influence of this magic circle, Olivia's body was unable to move, and her whole body was paralyzed, so she could only stick tightly to the ground.
All of the Silver Dragon's actions were restricted by the magic circle; the only thing it could do was think.
Tears streamed down Olivia's face again, running down her silver cheeks and dripping onto the ground.
Olivia didn't know how she got to this point, or how she had managed to hold on until now; even she herself was surprised by this inexplicable resilience.
However, at this moment, they were already in dire straits.
It was all too late.
Olivia couldn't help but recall her debate with Keosius.
She pondered the matter again and again, trying to find loopholes in the other person's words, only to be astonished to discover that the Red Dragon might not have really been deceiving her.
Red Dragon's words were completely different from the education she had received since childhood, yet they were still logically consistent and seemed to form a complete system.
The only thing she could sense from those words was sincerity.
Yes, sincere.
Olivia was also surprised by this.
The Red Dragon seemed to disdain deceiving itself. It almost never expounded on vague and ethereal ideas, nor did it engage in any cunning sophistry or flowery words. It simply laid out the cold, hard reality on the table.
That alone left Olivia speechless.
"Maybe... he really is right."
Olivia often had this thought, but she would quickly dismiss the terrible idea.
After all, she had witnessed the prosperity of North Wind Fortress Keep firsthand, and was well aware of the darkness of Lakman's bloody rule. She could even sense the rebirth of that serf, but instinctively she did not want to acknowledge any of it.
If it's really as Keosius said—
So what about Anher's death? Was it all a farce?
What does it matter if one risks their life to fulfill a request? Is it just a ridiculous act of nonsense?
Olivia knew that once she admitted this, everything she had insisted on would vanish, and she herself would fall into the Abyss of nihilism.
The "Embers of the Burned King" was indeed not as hopeless as she had imagined.
He didn't seem to be the typical, muscle-bound, brutal Red Dragon, nor a greedy tyrant; in fact, he was more rational than most of the Northern Nobles she had ever met. All his actions had reasonable explanations and sufficient motives.
The only mistake was that he was a Red Dragon, the leader of the evil Five-Colored Dragon.
"No, he may be hiding an even bigger goal."
"He may unleash a catastrophe that will sweep across the entire continent, and I must stop him."
Olivia instinctively tried to shake her head, but found that her neck was already firmly bound by chains and she could not move.
"But... aren't I also making excuses for myself? With the most malicious speculation."
"Anher, what should I do?"
Olivia gave a bitter smile and slowly closed her already exhausted eyes.
