Declaration
Suburbs of North Wind Fortress.
The army of the Embers of the Burned Kingdom has occupied almost the entire wilderness.
Many of them have grown red scales, sharp claws, dragon-like bone spurs, and some even have eyes that have turned into golden vertical pupils.
The Hobgoblin, Tiefling, and humans carried brand-new semi-automatic rifles and were all dressed in fine chainmail. These were the kingdom's most elite infantry, and almost every one of them had sharp eyes and a murderous aura.
The Ogre Artillery pulled heavy cannons, the black barrels with a metallic sheen nearly six meters long, the muzzles of which, with a caliber of one meter, resembled a gaping maw ready to devour men.
And the kingdom's army has hundreds of such giant cannons.
The Dragonkin Paladin were clad in heavy full-body plate armor. In their left hands they held massive shields engraved with the Emblem of Embers of the Burned Emblem, while in their right hands they gripped sharp spears and greatswords. Flaming auras constantly flickered around them, making their armor gleam. Their mere presence caused the surrounding temperature to rise sharply, turning the ground scorching hot, and even the surrounding servants dared not easily approach this formation.
The Kobold and Goblin, serving as a ragtag force filling the gaps, wore tattered clothes scavenged from who-knows-where and often carried obsolete muskets or shotguns. Their small, yellow eyes were filled with excitement. There were tens of thousands of such ragtag soldiers in this army, like a mottled wave of colors.
On the more distant hillsides, colossal beasts, each the size of a small mountain, rose and fell in waves. These Tundra Striding Dragon, clad in incredibly heavy armor, emitted muffled breathing sounds and puffs of white smoke, resembling mobile steel fortresses.
In the sky, Wyvern and Chimera formed clusters of dark clouds, their chaotic wings obscuring half the sky. Even these beasts were almost armed to the teeth; many of the Wyvern ' vital parts were protected by thin but sturdy iron armor, and their claws even carried strings of Incendiary Bomb and explosives.
Nearly 100,000 monsters and humans have gathered here.
Under normal circumstances, the mixing of these diverse races would absolutely turn any place into chaos, or even a brutal killing field.
But at this moment, these troops were arranged in neat formations and made little noise. The only sound on the vast wasteland was their heavy breathing. They were even trying to suppress these strange noises.
They were just waiting quietly.
"Roar--"
A long, drawn-out roar came from afar.
A huge red figure appeared on the wasteland, casting a shadow over the ground beneath it.
They all raised their heads in unison, their breathing becoming rapid, their eyes filled with excitement and fanaticism, like fanatical believers who had seen a god. Meanwhile, the Wyvern descended to the ground in unison, bowing their heads.
—That was Keosius, the Embers of the Burned King whose wings covered Anzeta, bringing annihilation to his enemies in Purgatory Calamity.
In the inconspicuous human formation, George looked up and stared intently at the enormous figure, his hand gripping the gun trembling slightly.
Although he had seen His Majesty before, no matter how many times he had admired him, he was still amazed and deeply impressed by his pure and overwhelming power. He longed to be a "great man" who could receive His Majesty's personal favor.
Among the dense swarm of multicolored Wyvern, the pure white dragon stands out, like Snow Peak in the mountains.
Tinia was also staring blankly at the sky, stretching her neck as far as she could, her pale blue vertical pupils filled with rapture and adoration.
"Keosius, my master."
"So strong."
She pondered this absentmindedly. The White Dragon, not forgetting to swat away the Wyvern that was in a better position nearby, took its place alone, causing the Wyvern to whimper in grievance. But upon seeing it was the White Dragon, it had no choice but to leave dejectedly.
"Boom!"
The earth shook violently, debris flew everywhere, and dust filled the sky.
A giant Red Dragon, over thirty meters long, crashed down to the top of the hillside. All the creatures in the wilderness seemed so small and vulnerable in its presence.
Keosius surveyed his army from his vantage point, his wings outstretched to Sky-Shading, and slowly spoke, "Since they desire war..."
"Then I will grant them war."
Before the words were even finished, the entire wilderness erupted in a frenzy, bursting forth like a raging fire.
"For the Embers of the Burned Kingdom!"
"War! Make them pay in blood!"
"For the Great Red Dragon!"
"Fight for His Your Majesty Keosius!"
"For the Great Blueprint of the Dragon Vein Empire!"
The Hobgoblin raised their rifles, the Ogre pounded their chests, the humans cheered, and even the Wyvern stretched their necks and let out piercing howls.
Despite the military order forbidding it, some overly excited Hobgoblin fired shots into the air, and one dim-witted Ogre even nearly launched a cannonball weighing several hundred kilograms in his excitement. Fortunately, he was stopped by his companions, thus preventing a major disaster.
The numerous victories and accumulated prestige over the years have made the Red Dragon's status in the hearts of his followers comparable to, or even surpassing, that of a god.
He doesn't need to do any extra mobilization; he only needs to be there and say a few words, and the army's fighting spirit and morale will be incredibly high, reaching a peak that no general can achieve.
And Red Dragon himself is clearly well aware of this.
Looking down at the army, brimming with fighting spirit, and gazing at the vast territory, Keosius's vision seemed to expand to the Feanso Continent, and even to the entire world of Erezege.
"It's time."
"After nearly ten years of planning, we can finally take control of the entire the North."
"However, my journey will only truly begin once all of this is over. Demons, devils, gods, Ancient Evil —there are many beings in this world that can pose a threat to me."
Keosius exhaled a puff of Sulfur Scent white smoke and thought to himself.
The Red Dragon took a step forward, extended its ferocious giant claw, and gradually tightened its grip, as if it were holding the entire Anzeta Great Wasteland in the palm of its hand.
"Crush them."
Keosius gave the order in a calm tone, as if he were stating a trivial matter.
In an instant, the wilderness erupted in activity once again.
Amidst the chaotic cheers and shouts, countless red flags adorned with vertical pupils and flame emblems fluttered in the Sulfur Scent wind.
"For the Embers of the Burned Kingdom!"
"Aww~~"
"Crush them completely and unify Anzeta!"
Iron Dragon Wing Palace.
The Red Dragon was using force field magic to sharpen its claws, though such small details wouldn't make much difference in high-level combat, it was just a way to kill time.
Suddenly, a message from Lang Pu arrived. With a thought, Keosius released the restriction, and the ugly face reappeared in the magic mirror.
"Master, unfamiliar guests have visited North Wind Fortress. They claim to be your allies."
"Oh?"
"My ally is quite a rarity."
"I'd like to see who would want to be an ally of a notorious dragon."
Keosius slowly raised his head, a glimmer of light flashing in his pale golden vertical pupils.
