Crimson Edge (I)
Beside an inconspicuous little hill on the battlefield, the severely wounded Silver Dragon lay on the ground, barely clinging to life.
Olivia's eyes were tightly closed, and she let out painful groans and muffled moans.
Her slender body, more than ten meters long, was curled up in a ball, and the chaotic fog spread along the wounds on her wings to all parts of her body, continuously eroding her flesh.
Suddenly, a silvery light shone down, dispelling the Abyssal Energy. Then, Beams descended, causing the wounds to slowly heal and new flesh to grow.
Keosius held the "Bahamut's Wind" in his claws and cast the spell of Dragon's Breath, standing silently beside the Silver Dragon.
After a moment of silence, he finally asked, "Why did you do this?"
Olivia opened her eyes with difficulty, her blue-gray pupils filled with stubbornness. "I once swore in my heart that I would save you."
"I'm not a liar like you."
His words were broken and intermittent, yet remarkably firm.
"Naive, overconfident, and self-proclaimed savior, you possess all the stubborn traits, or rather, virtues, of the Silver Dragon race."
"But... it's kind of adorably silly."
Keosius stared intently at the Young Silver Dragon who had been tricked and suffered a terrible fate, yet had stepped forward to save him in his moment of crisis, his expression quite complex.
His pale golden vertical pupils flickered slightly, as if he were lost in thought.
Olivia's eyelids trembled. She bent her neck slightly, trying to lift her head to see the Red Dragon's expression, but in the end, she collapsed helplessly to the ground.
"So, is it all over?"
"It will be over soon."
Keosius answered calmly.
Seemingly satisfied with the answer, the Silver Dragon's eyelids finally gave way, trembled a few times, and slowly closed.
Olivia fell into a deep coma, her battered body rising and falling slightly with her breathing; she was too exhausted.
The Red Dragon flapped its wings again, a ferocious look flashing across its face.
"However, before that, we need to find a few rats hiding in the shadows."
In the crevices of the Prime Material Plane, in a temporary Alternate Dimension created by the spellcaster.
"Are you crazy?"
"You'd better look carefully! That Red Dragon defeated the infamous ' Silver Wing ' Oszedro in a head-on battle!"
"A few hundred thousand Gold Coin are far from enough to cost us our lives, especially since our dear employer was taken away by an Abyssal Devil!"
An anxious female voice rang out.
The speaker was a voluptuous woman in a white robe; she was Ingrid Garcés, a legendary Light Cleric belonging to the "Crimson Edge."
Dex Flamegold gripped his greatsword tightly, his gaze intense, and said in a deep voice:
"He did defeat Oszedro, but that doesn't mean he still possesses that power!"
"That Red Dragon has been through such an intense battle, it's probably nearing the end of its life. This is our best chance to slay it!"
"Just think about it, this is the dragon that defeated Oszedro, the so-called ' Dragon Prince ' of Tiamat!"
"Once we cut off his head, our names will be etched in history, and the fame of the Crimson Edge will spread throughout the Feanso Continent, and even the entire multiverse! We will become heroes of the righteous side, and even His Majesty Amanata will personally extend an olive branch to us!"
Dex's voice grew more urgent and excited, as if he could already imagine that glorious and beautiful future.
The members of the Crimson Edge looked through the Magic Image and saw that the Red Dragon was indeed covered in wounds and looked listless, no longer as powerful as before.
A tall man, shirtless and covered in red tattoos, also shouldered a battle axe, hot breath coming from his nostrils—that was the legendary Barbarian Lano.
"Boss, I'll listen to you!"
"It's just a big Red Dragon, I can kill it just the same!"
Ingrid frowned slightly, still feeling uneasy, and raised another question, "Even if we succeed in slaying the dragon, how will we escape unscathed? There are thousands upon thousands of Dragon Vein Kin here!"
Dex said smugly, "We have Legendary Caster here."
Klein, dressed in a long blue-black robe, gently stroked the Truth Crystal Ball in his hand and said softly, "None of the Red Dragon's followers are spellcasters capable of casting Ninth Circle Spell. If I want to leave, they can't stop me."
"They can't even catch a shadow."
A shadow gradually rose, transforming into a gaunt human figure dressed in black—it was the Nether Tracker Ranger, Grom Dursley, the most mysterious member of the "Crimson Edge."
Dex looked around at the rest of the team, then turned to Ingrid, who looked hesitant. "How is it?"
"Take a gamble with us."
"This Red Dragon has created endless evil and war, and now is the best opportunity to slay it!"
A glint of light flickered in the eyes of this Vengeance Knight.
Although he was a mercenary who pursued profit, he kept in mind his oath and would not let any villains go unpunished, especially since it could bring him fame and money.
"You bunch of lunatics, gamblers."
Ingrid remained silent for a long time before finally uttering a single sentence.
Suddenly, the Cleric's eyes widened, her face turned deathly pale, and even her voice trembled slightly.
"You, you all look there."
"He seems to have spotted us!"
Ingrid extended a trembling finger and pointed to the Magic Image behind Desk.
The Red Dragon was grinning menacingly, its pale Golden Vertical Pupils seeming to pierce through the spatial barrier, meeting her gaze from afar.
Ingrid was absolutely certain.
That's the look in a hunter's eyes when he's watching his prey.
Desker frowned, crossed his arms, and said with some dissatisfaction, "Ingrid, aren't you being a little too suspicious?"
Grom chuckled and chimed in, "We're in Alternate Dimension created by Klein. Even Legendary Caster would have a hard time detecting our presence, let alone finding our trail."
Then, a sudden change occurred.
"Boom--"
A deafening roar erupted, followed by the sound of rags being torn apart.
The members of "Crimson Edge" were caught off guard by this sudden change and appeared somewhat panicked. However, their rich experience as legendary professionals enabled them to quickly prepare for battle and deal with the arrival of a powerful enemy.
Ingrid raised her scepter, unleashing a dazzling light; Dex sprouted wings and transformed into Avenging Angel surrounded by aura; Lano roared and became Primal Warrior with runes surging all over his body; Grom was surrounded by wisps of supernatural shadows.
Everyone looked up and gasped in shock.
The Red Dragon used its sharp claws to tear apart the barrier between worlds, creating a huge, jagged crack at the top of this Alternate Dimension.
The enormous dragon head plunged into them, looking down at them with a gaze that seemed to burn with flames in its pale golden vertical pupils.
Hello everyone.
"The long-lost Dragon Slayer."
