The Grand Sultan's Negotiation
A hint of disappointment flickered in Keosius's pale golden eyes, and he shook his head with regret.
Ismail has been resurrected.
Although he was fearless in the face of the Grand Sultan, he had no way to kill the Pasha in front of him.
Moreover, he was about to succumb to the impact of the Grand Sultan's wrath—after all, he was a being of Quasi-divinity, and even a projection of him was not easy to deal with.
Ismail spotted the Red Dragon eyeing him menacingly in the distance. He immediately shook his head, his face filled with fear and unease.
"You, you—"
"How could this happen! You should have had your head chopped off!"
How dare you kill me!
The image of his sudden death and his head hitting the ground was still in his mind.
But soon, Ismail looked down at his shrunken body and realized that most of his power had been lost.
"What... what did you do to me?"
His voice trembled.
He had never been this afraid, not even when he was dying; losing his power made him feel real fear.
Strength—that's all he needs to survive.
Only the most powerful Fire Giant are qualified to become the Sultan's direct servants, the noble Fire Giant Pasha.
Once he loses his power, within the warlike race of the Fire Giant, he is very likely to be replaced by those lower-ranking Fire Giant upstarts.
"Ismail!"
"You idiot!"
The Grand Sultan interrupted angrily.
Ismail looked at the projection of the Grand Sultan in the distance, and his expression immediately became extremely fearful and tense. He actually knelt down in that direction.
"My lord!"
"I'm sorry, I've let you down! You even went to the trouble of reviving me."
But the Grand Sultan ignored the Pasha, who had lost most of his power, and instead stared at the Red Dragon, his eyes filled with rage.
If looks could kill, this Grand Sultan would probably have already skinned and dismembered the Red Dragon.
Keosius, however, paid no attention to the other's gaze, merely licking his lips with lingering satisfaction, and said with a smile:
"Grand Sultan, I have come to negotiate. Let us cease hostilities for the time being."
"Negotiation?!"
The Fire Giant asked incredulously, his tone filled with barely suppressed rage.
"You have invaded my kingdom, seized my cities, killed my people, and murdered my servants!"
"You still want to negotiate after things have come to this!"
Keosius shook his head slightly and said nonchalantly, "Grand Sultan, that's just your perspective. In my opinion, it was your men who hunted down my family and insulted me to my face."
"What I did was simply legitimate self-defense."
Keosius remained unfazed.
The reason is not important.
Even absurd reasons like "self-defense in the city against the Fire Giant" can be uttered by him without batting an eye.
In communication between creatures of the evil faction, there is only one most important thing—force.
If this Grand Sultan were to descend in his true form, possessing the power of Quasi-divinity at his peak, Keosius would definitely flee in terror.
If there's really no way to escape, kneeling down and begging for mercy isn't unacceptable.
But now, what kind of trouble can a mere projection of a Grand Sultan possibly cause in front of him?
"What a fine example of legitimate self-defense!"
"If I don't stop you, are you going to keep defending the city all the way to the City of Brass?!"
The Grand Sultan's furious roars echoed across the Scorching Wasteland, creating waves of air.
But he quickly calmed down, staring at the Red Dragon in the distance with a sinister look in his eyes, lost in thought.
Things have come to this.
Unbridled anger changes nothing; it only makes you appear incompetent.
"Keosius, I know you, son of Tiamat, the Red Dragon who conquered the Anzeta Great Wasteland in the Material Plane, who calls himself the so-called Embers of the Burned Emperor."
"Tsk tsk, you've been making quite a splash lately—"
"But you've come to the Fire Elemental Plane and invaded my realm. Aren't you afraid you'll never be able to leave this place?"
Do you even know what kind of being you've provoked?
These words carried a blatant threat; the Grand Sultan made no attempt to conceal his intentions.
Keosius nodded slightly and said in a flattering tone, "Of course I know your identity—the master of the City of Brass, the supreme ruler of the Fire Giant Kingdom, and the supreme ruler of the Fire Elemental Plane."
Normally, the Grand Sultan would simply assume this was flattery.
But the fact that this Red Dragon had just killed his servant in front of him and devoured his power was undoubtedly ironic.
The Grand Sultan's face grew increasingly somber.
After reciting that long and complicated list of titles, Keosius paused slightly.
He then continued, "But if you could appear here in your true form, I would never dare to step into the Fire Elemental Plane."
He glanced at the other person with a half-smile, and greeted him in a pretentious manner:
"Being pierced through by Prince Zaman.Rul's Holy Flame Spear must have been quite an experience, right? Tsk tsk, I heard you were even impaled on the throne."
"You greedy, arrogant Red Dragon!"
The Grand Sultan couldn't help but curse.
Keosius's words struck a nerve once again.
Months ago, Zaman.Rul, along with Fire Dwarf rebels, entered the City of Brass through a secret passage.
The Holy Flame Prince infiltrated his Charcoal Palace and hurled a deadly spear, nearly killing him on the spot! Even now, the Grand Sultan is still recovering from his injuries in the City of Brass and dares not step out of the palace.
The city was under unprecedentedly tight security, with all passages blocked and strict checks required to enter any area.
Thinking of this, the Grand Sultan stared at the Red Dragon with a sinister look in his eyes and said hatefully, "Who sent you? What exactly do you want?"
"Who sent me?"
Keosius repeated the Grand Sultan's question, shook his head and chuckled, before continuing to speak.
"That depends on your choice."
"If you insist on being enemies with the Embers of the Burned Empire to the death, then I am the secret agent sent by Holy Flame Prince."
"I will fly over your vast kingdom, sweeping over every city and every stronghold of the Fire Giant, slaughtering them like the Grim Reaper."
Keosius's words also carried a strong sense of threat.
But a barely perceptible hint of panic appeared in the Grand Sultan's expression.
Because what the other party said is feasible.
With the frontline fighting tense and slave uprisings breaking out in various cities, the Fire Giant ' high-end combat forces have been dispatched to fight against the followers of the Holy Flame Prince.
As the Grand Sultan of Fire Giant, he was severely injured and spent his days recuperating in the palace.
With the front lines tense and the rear vulnerable, no one can stop this Ancient Dragon- level, or even more terrifying, War Machine.
Holy Flame Prince would probably be quite pleased to see such a helper.
This guy could really wreak havoc on the Fire Giant Kingdom, giving the rebels the opportunity to overthrow the Fire Giant' rule.
The Grand Sultan was deep in thought, while Keosius continued speaking.
"But if you cease hostilities with the Embers of the Burned Empire, abandon the pursuit of these misunderstandings and frictions, express your apologies to me, and show goodwill to the Empire—"
"Then it's all just a misunderstanding. I will not interfere with your Burning War, and I can even provide you with military support to the best of my ability."
Keosius raised his head, a calm smile on his ferocious Dragon Face.
"I have always pursued peace and do not advocate the use of force. All conflicts can be resolved through negotiation."
"You mean it's like this, right?"
