Slaughter Devil
"Roar--"
Another roar.
The Goat Devil, their gaunt but muscular bodies covered in filthy gray animal hides, raised their withered staffs and chanted a filthy ballad.
"The terror of the Abyss is endless."
"And it, child of the Abyss, eternally slaughters other races."
The Kyton wielded his long whip, gazing expectantly at the murky, jagged Spatial Rift.
"Roar--"
A savage roar came from the crack once more, and the twisted Teleportation Array on the ground flickered with eerie light.
First, a sharp, giant, reptilian claw extended, then the mantis's segmented limbs clung to the edge of the crevice, and finally, the enormous, ferocious figure slowly emerged.
This enormous, beast-like demon stood more than ten meters tall, its massive body composed of the worst parts of various creatures.
—A bear, a mantis, a wolf, and a reptilian humanoid.
This makes it seem like a deformed product of a failed experiment, and indeed it is. It is said that this creature was created by a powerful Devil Lord, drawn from sadists and evil souls who enjoyed torturing others to death.
Almost all the terrifying creatures of the Abyss endlessly and eternally slaughter other races, with the Slaughter Demon being the most prominent among them.
They are far more terrifying and physically stronger than most demons, combining the characteristics of numerous insect and beast predators to form a gigantic and deadly shape.
These are the demons' reinforcements, the killing machines on the battlefield— the Slaughter Devil!
Seeing the Slaughter Devil arrive, the Kyton stepped forward and whispered, "Carl, Lord Jierlazarax needs your help."
The enormous demon took a deep, ecstatic breath, as if savoring the scent of death in the air.
"Call"
It looked at the Kyton with its compound eyes, and a piercing sound like metal scraping came from its huge mouth.
"I don't need you to teach me what to do. It's been too long since I've tasted the pleasure of killing mortals."
". good"
The Kyton looked somewhat embarrassed, but ultimately said nothing. In the Abyss, strength was everything, and the Slaughter Devil was far more powerful than it.
The fact that the opponent was able to descend onto the battlefield was solely due to the will of the Devil Lord behind it, and had little to do with itself.
However, we can finally break through that disgusting defense.
The Kyton looked at the gun barrels and cannon barrels protruding from the bunker, and finally a smile appeared on his ugly face, his fangs sticking out at the corners of his mouth.
As the commander of the demon legion, it had invaded the Prime Material Plane countless times and Contend Against against enemies more powerful than the Empire, such as the Celestials, giants, and fairies. But the Kyton had never felt so frustrated. Its proud demon legion had not even reached the defensive line and was routed by the enemy's ranged firepower.
This is an absolute and blatant insult!
No country or power would dare to treat the Abyss in this way; even extraordinary beings would treat it with fear and trepidation.
"Roar--"
The Slaughter Devil roared to the sky, letting out a chilling howl, stretching its massive body, and then charged towards the Imperial Wall without hesitation.
Behind it, a dozen Gorebull Devil strode across the scorched wasteland, each step they took causing the earth to tremble.
These behemoths formed moving hills, advancing towards the imperial soldiers, while the Slaughter Devil was the killing machine clearing obstacles at the forefront.
Countless demons followed behind them, emitting piercing, noisy roars, gradually taking over the sky and the earth, forming a surging Magic Tide once again.
On the platform behind the Gorebull Devil, the withered and emaciated Goat Devil Sorcerer waved his Bone Staff, uttering whispers from the Abyss.
Layers of chaotic, blood-red light covered the demons, cursing the land.
The demon legion has returned.
"Shooting!"
"For the Embers of the Burned Empire!"
"Suppressive firepower! Let these Abyss bastards never cry out again!"
From inside the bunker came the officers' roars, the soldiers' heavy breathing, and the rapid clatter of gunfire.
The heavy machine guns spewed bursts of fire, and bullets rained down like a storm, creating a dense and crisscrossing network of fire.
With a series of loud bangs, flames shot from the muzzles of the city's defensive cannons, Gunsmoke billowed all around, and shells were suddenly fired.
"Moo—"
A deep, muffled roar resounded, and white smoke billowed from those Da Tou.
The Gorebull Devil shouldered the rocks as shields and used the blood-red light as armor, charging at the forefront and withstanding the impact of bullets and artillery fire.
The Slaughter Devil was even more terrifying; relying on its insect-like hard exoskeleton and beast-like tough fur, it was oblivious to these bullets and cannons.
"Clang, clang, clang!"
Bullets struck its body, but were deflected without leaving a mark.
"Whoosh—"
The shell flew in a very low arc from the distant muzzle.
But the mantis-like appendages on the back of the Slaughter Devil swung in mid-air, a flash of cold light, and actually sliced the cannonball in half, breaking it in two with remarkably clean cuts.
The Slaughter Devil picked up the broken shrapnel from the ground, brought it to its nose, sniffed the smell of steel and Gunsmoke, and let out a low sneer.
"Interesting. But it's nothing more than a toy for the prey."
The Slaughter Devil's strong Limbs bent down, veins bulging under its skin, its enormous and deformed body pressed tightly against the ground.
With a loud bang, the ground beneath the Slaughter Devil collapsed, creating a crater half a meter deep. Its Limbs sprang up like springs, and its massive body was propelled upwards by the force.
This monstrous, stitched-together demonic behemoth leaped dozens of meters into the air, traversing hundreds of meters, and in an instant approached the empire's defenses.
"Boom!"
With another loud bang, the Slaughter Devil crashed to the ground, causing the earth to tremble violently, dust to fly everywhere, and debris to scatter in all directions.
Larger craters appeared on the ground, and amidst the billowing dust, the enormous, ferocious figure of the Slaughter Devil, like a nightmare, ran across the land, rapidly advancing towards the defensive line.
With each step it took, the ground made a dull thud and trembled slightly.
Faced with the menacing demons, the Imperial officers and soldiers inside the bunker were momentarily flustered, as they had never witnessed such a situation before.
"Quick!"
"Kill him!"
"That demon is coming! Aim at him!"
In an instant, rifles, machine guns, and even cannons inside the bunker were all aimed at the giant beast.
All bullets, shells, and grenades were unleashed upon the Slaughter Devil, in an attempt to utterly kill this behemoth that threatened the Empire's defenses.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Suddenly, a series of explosions occurred on the wasteland, and intense flames covered most of the battlefield, also engulfing the Slaughter Devil.
Thick Gunsmoke filled the air, dust billowed up, and a pungent odor permeated the surroundings.
Is it over?
"Is it dead?"
This was the common question in the minds of all the soldiers inside the bunker.
"This is."
George watched the billowing smoke with bated breath, his heart pounding for some reason.
Logically speaking, after such a dense barrage of fire, even the most powerful demon should have been reduced to ashes, but George's intuition from years of war told him that things were far more complicated than that.
Sure enough, Gunsmoke billowed from somewhere, and a huge, ferocious black shadow burst out from the smoke and dust, laughing wildly.
Those spider-like compound eyes, gleaming with an eerie light, revealed boundless killing intent.
"Hahahaha! A feeble and powerless resistance! You will all be slaughtered by me!"
Then, it raised its head, opened its massive, fang-filled maw, and let out a wild roar.
"Roar--"
The roar was irregular and arrhythmic, filled with a chaotic aura, like the disordered wails of billions of demons in Abyss.
That is Blasphemous Words!
Instantly, everyone in the bunker was filled with terror, their souls trembling, and the image of their gods being devoured by the Slaughter Devil flashed through their minds.
"What... what is that?"
"Keosius above"
"Blasphemy, this is utter blasphemy!"
The soldiers clutched their heads in agony, writhing on the ground, letting out screams and howls.
George's face was also pale, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead, streaming down his cheeks.
But he gritted his teeth, maintaining his basic rationality.
—After all, they are Dragon Blood Noble; their souls have already established a solid bond with His Majesty, enough to withstand any impact on the soul level.
"Damn demon"
George looked around at the soldiers groaning in pain and said bitterly.
This demon is too powerful. If given the chance to break through the Imperial Wall, it could even slaughter the Heavy Artillery Battalion all by itself.
Thinking this, George made a decisive move, rushing to an empty machine gun position and firing wildly at the Slaughter Devil, while shouting, "Cover fire! Heavy Shieldbearer, push forward! We cannot let that demon break through the defenses! For— the Embers of the Burned Empire!"
There are still quite a few conscious soldiers in the defensive line, such as the usually careless Ogre, the not-so-bright Wyvern, and the soulless player "For the Empire!"
"Ogre Heavy Shieldbearer, charge!"
"Smash this big worm flat and eat it!"
The Ogre roared in battle, carrying heavy steel shields nearly four meters high, forming a thick wall at the front of the defensive line.
The machine guns and heavy artillery behind them kept firing bullets and shells at the demon, providing fire support for the Heavy Shieldbearer.
The players, overjoyed, rushed out of the bunker and launched attacks on the Slaughter Devil from all directions.
"They're here!"
"Brothers, follow me!"
"If we take down this boss, we'll be rich! This thing is worth tens of thousands of Ginar!"
"Flip the car!"
For players, while it's satisfying to rack up contribution points by firing cannons inside the bunker, it can be a bit boring.
Face-to-face with demons in hand-to-hand combat, team up with allies to besiege bosses, enjoy the Gunsmoke- filled battlefield, and savor the taste of blood and fire—this is the romance of war! "I will make you realize—your own insignificance!"
The Slaughter Devil laughed maniacally, waving its enormous claws, while its blade-like appendages on its back also swung wildly, flashing with cold light.
"Whoosh—"
The heavy shield was suddenly sliced open, as easily as tearing a piece of paper.
Immediately afterwards, the first row of Ogre was also cut in two in an instant. They fell down with screams, their fat bodies oozing a mixture of blood and internal organs.
"How is that possible?"
"They... they just died like that?"
It's important to know that the Ogre Shieldbearer were once the Empire's elite force, tasked with charging into battle and known as the Empire's mobile bulwark.
Yet at this moment, they were killed so easily by this terrible demon, as if slaughtering pigs or lambs.
However, there was no time for them to be surprised. The Slaughter Devil suddenly swung its giant claws, crushing several Ogre Heavy Shieldbearer under its claws and mercilessly turning them into meat patties.
"Roar--"
The Slaughter Devil, standing on the pile of Ogre ' corpses, let out a ferocious roar, its tail with sharp barbs whipping around, piercing through several more soldiers in succession.
"Aww~~"
The Wyvern circled and roared in the sky, then swooped down, trying to blind the Slaughter Devil.
But the limbs attached to the Slaughter Devil swung, the blade slicing across the Wyvern's slender neck and severing its still-screaming head.
The sound stopped abruptly.
Immediately afterwards, the Slaughter Devil's long tail suddenly pierced to the side and rear, piercing the chest of another Wyvern.
One after another, the Wyvern let out mournful cries and crashed to the ground.
Even in the Abyss, the Slaughter Devil is the predator of predators.
In the battlefield of the Prime Material Plane, it becomes a complete killing machine, with mantis-like bladed appendages, a barbed tail, dragon-like sharp claws, and a bear-like strong body. Every organ of its is meticulously pieced together by the Devil Lord for slaughter, enough to make all enemies in front of it tremble with fear.
This single Slaughter Devil tied down thousands of soldiers on this section of the Empire's defensive line, drawing almost all of their firepower.
Meanwhile, the demon legion behind it was able to advance rapidly, and the Gorebull Devil' strides caused the ground to tremble incessantly.
The demonic wave surged forward, with countless Quasit and Primordial Devil shouting excitedly as they crowded together and charged towards the front lines one after another.
"You insect demon, behold my iron fist!!"
Faced with this rampaging demon, the Dawei Tianlong stepped forward, his fist, as big as a casserole dish, rained down on the Slaughter Devil's back like a storm.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
But the demon did not flinch; it simply turned its head slowly, all its eyes fixed on the Monk, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth.
"Human, you have courage. I'll give you an interesting way to die."
"Whoosh—"
Before he could finish speaking, the giant tail descended from the sky, piercing through the Monk's skull and pinning him to the ground.
Before he died, the Monk tried to dodge, but the eerie light emanating from those dozens of compound eyes rendered him completely immobile.
"Holy crap! Even the Dawei Tianlong was instantly killed?"
"Holy crap, what kind of damage does this boss do? It shattered my rare armor in one hit!"
"It's immune to lightning! My Lightning Beam have absolutely no effect!"
"It's coming!"
The Slaughter Devil rampaged through the crowd, its massive body stained crimson with blood, and its dozens of compound eyes gleamed with excited light.
It opened its enormous mouth, filled with bits of flesh and fangs, and lunged at the soldiers of the Empire, foul-smelling liquid dripping from its mouth.
"Holy crap!"
"Too fast! There's no way to dodge it!"
The giant mouth split into several halves, swallowing several unfortunate players before rapidly closing, its countless sharp teeth instantly chewing their bodies into pieces.
The Slaughter Devil had intended to savor the long-awaited flesh and blood, but suddenly sensed something was amiss, and a hint of suspicion appeared in its compound eyes.
"These meager snacks have no soul?"
